Question about HP L1906 19" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

HP L1906 lcd monitors won't display anything

I have two l1906 lcds. The on-screen menu won't display, nor will anything else. Not even a flicker from the screen on either of them.

One (1) will not power on (no green light or response on screen), and the other (2) get's a slow flashing green light. I have opened them both up and the boards have some white "glue" on them, but don't appear to have anything that exploded. Some of the caps are bulging on (2) with a slightly orange/rusty liquid on the tops (burst caps?).

On (1), the caps all look fine with some very minor bulging, but a friend reviewed the power board and said all caps tested fine. He did go through and resolder a bunch of points and paths that were faulty.

Once (1) was repaired by a friend, the power light still doesn't come on. I don't recall the status of the light prior to the repair, perhaps it worked before, perhaps it didn't. Regardless, it doesn't now.

I have yet to have him look at (2) with flashing light.

Any thoughts?

Yes you got badcaps!!! www.badcaps.net examples of what they are and what they can do and this is one of them. U/You can change out these caps and see if it fires back up again.

Even bulging caps are still issues I just fixed a emac with bulging caps as the emac would freeze not when i put in the new caps the ****** is doing great!!!! I would suggest you do the same.

Hp l1906 LCD MONITOR SCREEN WONT DISPLAY. power lcd green light keep blinking. Any solution? thx

It is possible that the video card in cpu is bad, try hooking up another monitor to the cpu (computer) if you have one that will let you know if it is the monitor or the computer video card, Could be as simple as the driver is missing.
