Question about SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 Player

1 Answer

Computer Won't Recognise MP3

I've had my Sansa e260 for nearly a year now, and I love it. But all of a sudden it said I had over 40,000 songs. It ended up just being a whole bunch of my songs were copied. (So I had 40,000 copies of The Beatles and Green Day) So then I just used a firmware to erase all the files on my player. Now, whenever I plug my mp3 into the computer, I get the error message; Exception Processing Message c0000013 Parameters 75b6bf9c 75b6bf9c 75b6bf9c. So my computer doesn't recognise my mp3 player, and I can't put songs on it. It recognises my sister's mp3, so I've ruled out any problems with the computer, USB cable, or Rhapsody program.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I just get a new mp3 player or call the company?

Re: Computer Won't Recognise MP3

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out:

Half of song list not recognized by Sansa e260

i will surely help you. you have mentioned that you can see all the songs when your mp3 player is connected to the computer. so what you can do is, you can very well go ahead & format all the songs in your mp3 player using your computer. then you transfer a few songs to your mp3 player(the songs which were not getting recognized in your mp3 player). this should solve your problem.

I cannot delete songs from Sansa E260

Ok, Sansa made it a little difficult this time,

"Connect your player, of course. Go to "My Computer" > "Sansa e260". There are hidden files. To unhide go to "Tools" (located on the menu bar) > "Folder Options..." > hit the "View" tab > select "Show hidden files and folders". You will see more folders to appear in a faded color. Click on the "MUSIC" folder. Click on the artist, then album then select the song, right click and down to delete." --Yahoo Answers
