Gateway HD2200 Won't stay on

I am having the same issue. I have to restart my monitor with the blue power button over and over for about 5 min when I start the computer. I work at a Best Buy and will never recommend another Gateway to my customers. When I contacted them they told me that my computer is out of warranty. I had a known issue with a dell laptop that was out of warranty and they replaced my laptop. From talking to people my backlight is out.

I have never taken a monitor apart. Taken plenty of computers apart, though. Is that hard to do?

Sounds like the back light is out. You can always take the monitor apart and reseat the lcd cable. Could be that the cable is not seated properly enough and that can cause this kind of problem.

At least trying this would verify that the lcd backlight is defective.

Hardest thing is once you take the screws out the front cover needs to come out and that is held in by clips so you have to be real careful with undoing the clips to that way the front cover comes off without breaking.

I have a LG 22inch LCD monitor it goes on but only stays on for about 5 min then turns off. If I press the power button it goes on but now only stays on for about 15 seconds please help

First of all, you need to detached the monitor power connection and re-attached it after 5 minutes and check if the monitor works fine.
If issue persists, you need to make sure if any custom settings are made for monitor display power saving mode. To help you find these, please follow the steps mentioned below:
- Click the Start button. Select 'Control Panel' from the Start menu pane.
- Type 'power options' into the search box. Click 'Power Options'.
- Click 'Show Additional Plans' in the 'Select a Power Plan' section.
- Click and enable the 'High Performance' radio button.
- Select the blue 'Change Plan Settings' link next to the High Performance setting to open the plan settings editor window.
- Change the setting beside 'Turn Off Display' to 'Never' under both the 'On Battery' and 'Plugged In' headings. Change the setting beside 'Put the Computer to Sleep' to 'Never' under both headings.
- Click 'Save Changes' to implement the setting.
If issue persists, it is recommended to contact LG Support Center for further assistance from the link given below:

Gateway monitor 2100 won't turn screen on, blue lite is on as if monitor is. but screen is not on. can it be fuse or what ? is not v-card

It sounds like the lamp for your monitor is no longer receiving power. While you can attempt to fix this issue yourself I wouldn't recommend doing so as it doesn't mean it will work after you attempt it.
If the monitor is under warranty still then you should contact the manufacturer about a RMA. If the monitor isn't under warranty then you should purchase a new monitor.

Installed wed cam and monitor shut down with a promt saying "frequency out of range". Changed resolution settings still have a problem with monitor and this promt. Changed to another monitor and everything...

Connect the monitor that works.

In the "Advanced" settings for the video-card,
set the "refresh-rate" to 60 Hertz.

Connect the other monitor -- it _very-likely_ will support a 60 Hertz refresh-rate.

Gateway FPD2185W

Hello,

The next thing to try would be to resolder all of the connections on the transformers in your monitor. If you can take a few pictures of the board and email them to me I will mark the points to check and send it back to you.
