Question about Garmin eTrex Venture Cx GPS Receiver
While uploading my first set of maps, I realized that at that speed, my bateries would die before the end of the process. So I interrupted the transfer in a clean way it seemed.
However, from that point, the HCX won't boot with that card in.
I press On. Stays on boot screen as long as i push. But as soon as I release the button, it goes off in a dirty way, with visual effects that looks like those described by others : persistence + one strange horizontal line sometimes and somewhere randomly.
Then How can I reformat it ? (I have no microsd card reader !)
To format, it seems you need to go in the menus ....
Isn't there a sequence of key pressures to do that on bootup ?
Take the card to almost any computer store and ask them to format it FAT32.
While your unit is connected to your PC via USB cable, it is NOT using the batteries, it is using the power from your PC. Just tell it to transfer the maps and then leave it alone until it is finished. A lot of maps will take a long time to knit together, and then transfer.
