Running very slow sometimes freezing and will not let me text

all of a sudden my q9 is running very slow and freezes all the time. when i can make it to my messges i try to reply and i can type a few words and it will just stop and then the keyboard will stop working the cursor moves but does not delete or type .
tried battery pull same problem presists dont want to factory reset cuz i will loose all my contacts
no third party apps except for some games but ive had them on there for months and have had no problems
