Question about Epson Stylus CX9400Fax InkJet Photo Printer

Just replaced my ink cartridges and now cannot get the printer to work. All settings appear correct and I have unplugged it and restarted it a number of times. It is a CX9400 model

Did you remove the removable tabs? Push down on the carts to be sure they are seated. Call Epsontech support. Then, Get a CISS for your printer. It will save you TONS of MONEY, never change a cartridge again and it will pay for itself in a month.

Have an HP Deskjet 3050 and just replaced a black ink cartridge 61 with a black ink cartridge 56. Got an error message that says: "Cartridge problem. At least one of the Cartridges has a problem." Have...


On the inside of the cartridge door is the number of the cartridge you must use in your printer. If you put in another number, the electronic chip on the cartridge will tell the printer what type it is and the printer does not want to work with the cartridge. In the chip the printer also keeps track about the uses of the ink.
If number 56 is allowed too, perhaps another cartridge is empty too.
I think you did remove the pink label from the cartridge before you inserted it. because that label will block the electronic connection between the cartridge and the printer.
The manual explains how you can see what cartridge is causing trouble. When the printer is connected to a computer you also can use the computer to find out.

MP640 - After changing the ink-cartridge ,a message appear. "The following cartridge is unknown", U043


I would try opening the printer, make sure the ink cartridge is fully seated. Once that is checked, unplug the printer, wait a minute or so, then plug the printer back in and try to turn it on. If the problem persists, then try a new ink cartridge. If that doesn't work, there is something major wrong with the printer itself, and will be beyond anyone but a Canon repair facility to repair.

I have changed the ink cartridges before but this time nothing appears on the screen to say which ink cartridge needs to be replaced.


Have you tried unplugging the printer? I would shut restart the pc also, then power up the printer. If that doesn't help you can try going to the manufacturers website and downloading new printer drivers and software.

Here are some steps can help you.
Use only New Original HP ink
Restart the printer
Rreseat the ink cartridges
Update the firmware, download it from the link, make sure that you choose the correct operating system, and follow the on-screen instruction.
Check the ink levels, click Start , click All Programs, click HP ,click HP Solution Center, click Settings , click Printer Settings , click Printer Toolbox, Click the Estimated Ink Levels tab, note which cartridge is low on or out of ink
Restart the printer.

Error code Oxc 18a 0007 appears and can not print


Hi,

The "Ox18" series errors can be removed by resetting the printer. Unplug the USB cable from the printer, remove the ink cartridges. When the "Insert ink cartridges" message appears unplug the power cord from the printer. Wait 1 minute (at least), then reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer if it didn't come on by itself. Reinsert the ink, close the unit and print a calibration page if prompted to do so. Finally reconnect the USB cable to the printer. If this doesn't work, the unit needs service (or replacement if the service call will cost more than a new printer).

My printer is saying to replace ink i have (black is th eonly one that needed replacing ) but it insist on saying change 2 other colors printer says there full computer says replace so i did its still not...


o.k. it does seem like you are a good problem solver. I did review your manual but could not find much for this issue.

May I recommend opening door or lid to cartridges.
Pull all cartridges out including black.
Examine all the print heads on your color cartridges especially.
Clean all heads with a warm damp cloth.
Place cartridges back into printer correctly.
Close door and power off printer.
Now power off your computer.

After 1 minute...

Power back on printer.
Next power on computer.

hopefully this will reset the correlating memory for both.

Questions to ask?
Are you sure that the color has ink?
Are the cartridges old? They may be expired. They are programed with an expiration date.

Acts like its printing but no ink on paper


Using HP Director, you should be able to check estimated ink levels by selecting Settings -> Print Settings -> Printer Toolbox and then clicking on the Estimated Ink Levels tab.

If the ink levels appear to be sufficient, on the printer control panel press Setup, 1, 4. This will generate a self-test report. If there is streaking of any of the 4 bars at the bottom of the page, the affected cartridge may need to be cleaned. If any of the bars are missing, the cartridge needs to be replaced.

To clean the cartridges, press Setup, 5, 1. This will print a page of patterns.

Ink cartridge problem! The following ink cartridges appear to be missing or damaged.


Solution :
1. clean the ink cartridge contacts both in the printer and the cartridge with a lint free cloth or a cotton swab. and try inserting the ink cartridges again. if it wont work proceed to step 2.
2. unplug the power cord at the back of the printer
3. press and hold # and 3 keys at the same time and plug the power cord back in. Do not release the two keys. wait until the printer would say "partial nvram reset" or anything that says "reset". if this still would not resolve the problem
4. do the same process as 2 & 3 but instead of # and 3 try # and 6. instead of saying "partial nvram reset" it should say "semi-full nvram reset". and if it would not work better go to an onsite technician. but if your printer if brand new return it to the retailer and exchange it. but before you do that try calling HP technician they would instruct you to the things i have given you. Just tell them what you have had done and asked them to replace the ink cartridges. This are the informations the agent would ask you about the ink cartridge
part number and also the expiration date.
try to ask for a replacement first if it would not resolve it. then go to a technician. I could not assure you that a technician could fix it because i have troubleshoot this kind of problems and there are alot of printer parts that needs to be fixed. Usually i suggest my clients to buy a new printer instead

Unable to reset printer after installing new ink cartridges


unplug the printer from the wall, then plug it back in, leave in connected to the computer though.
this may help. If not, cycle the power off then on, ....wait. if nothing happens, click on the printer settings and ensure that they are correct.
