Question about Zebra Eltron TLP 2742 Thermal Label Printer
The way this is supposed to work is the ticket should print, then stick out of the printer about half way. Press advance once and the ticket is in position to be torn out and the printer is then in position to print again.
What IS hapening is the ticket is being printed, then advances one and a half tickets forward so half a blank ticket is sticking out of the printer. That ticket is now being wasted when we press advance to set the printer to print the next ticket. In other words, we are wasting every other ticket.
How do we set it right?
Your label length is set incorrectly, there are 2 things it could be
1) your software is telling the printer the label length is longer then the current labels, even if the label size is out my a single millimeter the printer will give you this issue of feed an extra label. you need to change this in your software. you can set a label size smaller then the current label size and it will work correctly
2) you software is not setting a label length and so the printer is going off its internal setting, to recalibrate hold feed and power up the printer letting go after the light starts flashing
it is important to note that label roll will change slightly over time so even though you are ordering the same labels as a year ago the manufacturer will have slight changes from batch to batch
