I have been trying for several days to get this linksys wireless router to connect wirelessly for a desktop, 2 laptops, and an i-phone.
I have loaded the cd on the desktop, configured 1 laptop that is working. I have disabled the windows and norton firewalls until we got it done correctly,
What next? Already gave credit card number to phillipino lady.

How many wired and wireless computers or devices do you have? How many are conencted to the wireless network? How many are actually able to access Internet through wireless connection? If your wireelss network is secured then make sure that you have the correct wireless network key. If nothing is working then I think you should try to reset and reconfigure Linksys router. Create a new wireless network and then try to connect to the new wireless network See Linkssy router setup
Hello, Try troubleshooting:1) Does it have a password on your router?2) If so remove password and try connecting to it Some electronics cant work to connect to WiFi if its protected by a tough security such as WPA2-TKIP.
Try: Clarify - the desktop is connected with an ether net cable? Is working? Install router software on desktop to manage router. Trying to connect desktop wirelessly? Wireless card installed? Radio activated? Network detected?
First, your router is old, go pickup a new one that supports the G standard, don't worry it will fall back to B standard or better yet get an N standard router. To setup wireless security directly connect a pc via cat5 data cable to one of the switch ports on the router (not the wan) and login to the web innerface, click the wireless tab, now look for the security or encrypted options. Most routers support WPA-2 encryption where you enter a phrase of 2 or 3 words if your router only supports web encryption go buy a new router. Save it, then go to your pc, disconnect, remove the wifi ssid from your managed wireless list refresh and search for the ssid of your wireless signal (name), now connect and the router should challenge you for your WPA pass phrase you setup in the router. Now your wifi ssid is secure and all connections will require the passphrase.
You have two ways on how you can get other computer online through this router. First, you can wired them (using an Ethernet cable) to one of the Ethernet ports on the back of the router. They are the ones labeled 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Second is through wireless, but those computers that will connect through wireless must also have a wireless adapter to be able to pick up the signal that this router is broadcasting.
You need to call Linksys again for them to help you setup the other computer. For the none-working computer, you don't need to run the setup CD for the router. All you need to do is connect to wireless network like what you did on the working laptop.
