I just bought the car certified from the dealer 3 days ago
I assume there are no leaks in the windows or sunroof.
One probable cause, is the Air Conditioning unit. On all cars there is a drain line for the AC unit. As a unit runs, it produces condensation. (Just as a bottle of cold water produces condensation in a warm, humid area). That water has to go somewhere, so there is a drain at the bottom of the system. That drain (which comes out under the car, usually centered under the dashboard area), can become clogged or pinched and leave the water to accumulate in the system base, (again inside the car, under the dash). When this happens, the water will seep under the carpet and find the lowest area, which in this case, is the floorboard in the back seat area.
Testimonial: "Thank U for your quick reply....Now when I take it back to the dealer tomorrow I can talk with them from a more educated stand. Sometimes not so easy when they talk to women...Rachel"
Just to follow up - I assume you were running the Air conditioner quite a bit - also, if your car has a sunroof and it rained, you could have gotten water from there, but you should have seen water stains around the sunroof if that was the case.
After I read your answer, went right out to my car & under the front pass side floor mat. You were spot on....the floor in the front was also soaked!!! THANKS AGAIN. Rachel
No sunroof. I only got it 3 days ago but did use the AC on each day for about an hour or 2
Hey Rachel, did you fix the problem? I'm having the same.
