Question about Dell UltraSharp 2001FP 20.1" LCD Monitor
The LCD is bad which is why you have that yellow bad it would have to be replaced. To verify this go ahead and hook up a known good working monitor to the computer. If the band goes away then you know the original monitor is bad.
If the band is still there even with the new monitor the the video card is bad and the video card would have to be replaced.
At the same time make sure the pins on the cable aren't bent as that can cause problems as well.
