According to both my provider, Alltel, and Motorola Q support tech, YOU're out of luck. This has happened to me with 3 Q's now, and a similar thread was posted last month giving several methods of getting the Q out of boot loader/flash mode. None of them worked for me. A tech person with Motorola told me today that it is caused by running too many applications, (which I didn't know were running on mine). It crashes like a computer blue screen with too many apps running. Go to task manager and shut down apps. As for your current one, which will not restart, you're in my boat.....get another replacement, as you cannot restart it nor can you retrieve any lost data. Hopefully, you won't go thru 3, like me, now 4!!

im not sure that this will work or not but you can try it if you really want to.

Note that this will erase all of the contents on your phone.

To perform the hard reset, hold down the center select button in the
middle of the D-pad/joypad (the raised silver one.) Then, continuing
to hold it for at least five seconds, press the power button to allow
the device to power up. Continue to hold the select button until you
get a screen which asks if you want to perform the master reset. Let
go of the select button, and press the appropriate soft action key to
    respond yes.

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How to unlock motorola v3 cellphone,i live outside the usa

I should first point out that there are other options to unlocking yourself,

1) You can get the unlock code from your provider for free if they are prepared to give it to you. If they are then that is the safest and best option.

2) There are also remote unlocking services - google GSM liberty

3) If you have or know of someone or a store with a smart clip these can be used.

To unlock yourself:

*You need to downgrade your boot loader - this is very risky - no liability is accepted for any problems that may occur*

Ensure your phone is fully charged before starting.

I recommend before beginning you first make a backup of your phone as described in the How To: Use Flashbackup To Backup Your Phone topic in the tutorials section.

This assumes all necessary drivers are already installed.

1) Start in bootloader mode (hold # and * while powering on)

2) Identify your current bootloader (e.g. 8.26 or 7.E0)

3) If you have bootloader 7.D0 already skip to step 6

4) Download and extracthttp://www.poeticfolly.com/motoguide/gurus/unlockit/bl_826-828_to_07d0 _for_V3_by_Archy.V2.shx

5) Use RSD Lite (This program is considered Warez and links are not allowed - search google for it) to flash the file to your phone

6) Download and extract the Moto Unlocker software fromhttp://www.poeticfolly.com/motoguide/gurus/unlockit/Motorola_Unlocker_ 2005.zip

7) Start in bootloader mode (hold # and * while powering on)

8 ) Run Moto Unlocker click connect and yes

PROBLEMS:

If after running motounlocker you still have issues there are two options:
1) Flash an old monsterpack (circa 40.79R), run the unlocker again then flash a recent monsterpack
2) Find P2k Easy Tools cracked version using google

btw I cannot take any credit for this - credit is due here:
http://www.motox.info/showthread.php?p=53127#post53127
and to Scotty2 and Archy for the bootloader downgrade

Motorola flash mode bootloader version; BOOT_C_03.00.00r MPAP usb cable connected ------ thats all that appears on my screen please help

I can help you with your Motorola Moto Q.

What has happened is that the firmware of your phone has become corrupted. When this happens your phone will no longer finish its boot sequence.

This is a very common situation with many phones: in fact, much of what I do here at Fixya is explain how people can fix their MP3 players, GPS and phones by reflashing the firmware.

The good news is that if you take your phone into your carrier's store, they can reflash it for you right there (if they have a competent tech handy.)

If you are comfortable with computers etc, you can also do it yourself. Your computer will communicate with and fix your phone, even though it doesn't seem to recognize it right now - I've seen this many many times.

My only warning for you is that if you are going to flash your phone yourself, you need to get the correct firmware from motorola's site for your carrier. I just downloaded the Verizon firmware as an example - Motorola's website has about ten different carrier firmwares for their MotoQ phone.

I hope that helps.

I have tried the Motorola and Verizon sites (tried the store as well) and the software is not available to flash the phone. Do you know of a site that would still have it available? Or can this question be sent to Paul to further comment on it? All I want to do is recover the phone numbers, notes and calandar from the phone via Activesync or Windows.
