HP dvd1040i only recognizes discs for a few minutes.

The drive is always recognized, and it will read discs for a few minutes after startup, but after a few minutes it just stops even recognizing there's a disc in it. I think that it reads consistently for a few minutes after startup invalidates the dirty/broken lens idea, otherwise I'd guess it was that.

it is the simple poblem of hardware you want to change your cd drive now
