Ingersoll Rand SSR-EP100 over pressure faults

An overpressure fault on an Ingersoll Rand SSR-EP100 compressor indicates that the pressure in the system has exceeded the allowable limit, triggering the pressure switch to shut down the compressor to prevent damage. Here are some possible causes and troubleshooting steps to try:
  1. Check the pressure switch: Make sure the pressure switch is functioning properly and set to the correct pressure range for your system. If it's malfunctioning or set incorrectly, it may be tripping the compressor prematurely.
  2. Check the air filter: A dirty air filter can restrict airflow and cause the compressor to overheat, which can lead to an overpressure fault. Make sure the air filter is clean and replace it if necessary.
  3. Check the condenser coil: The condenser coil can become clogged with dirt and debris, reducing the system's ability to dissipate heat and causing the compressor to overheat. Clean the coil and remove any obstructions.
  4. Check for leaks: A leak in the system can cause the compressor to work harder than it should, leading to an overpressure fault. Check for leaks in the air lines, fittings, and valves, and repair any leaks you find.
  5. Check the unloaders: Make sure the compressor's unloaders are working properly. If they're not unloading the system when the pressure reaches the maximum level, it can cause an overpressure fault.
If none of these troubleshooting steps resolve the issue, it may be necessary to call a qualified technician to diagnose and repair the compressor.

Why does compressor push oil through air filter when it shuts down ?

Minimum pressure check valve is bad. when unit shuts down air pressure goes back thru compressor and pushes oil out the air filter.

I have a u10h compressor that is bleading air all the time from the blowdown port right above the air intake valve so the compressor loads up then bleeds back down to 80 psi then back up to 120 what should...

You need to replace the blow down. They are bad for coming apart. Since this is in the left side between the inlet and seperator sump you will need to remove the seperator and check for any missing pieces of the blow down valve. There are 2 or 3 screws holding it in place with a 1/4 " plastic tube to the middle of it. I

I have a SSR-EP60 air compressor and am having a problem with it unloading. It would shut off for high pressure (145). I changed the air piston to the intake butterfly and seems to be a little better. I...

If the pressure continues to rise, the inlet valve is not closing completely. Remove the top of the air cleaner box and look down at the inlet valve butterfly. When the compressor is down or unloaded, the valve should be held closed by an internal spring in the air cylinder. If it's not, the mounting stud on the bracket may have come loose and moved, or more likely the spring in the air cylinder actuator is broken.

This actuator has gone thru at least 3 revisions. I just replaced the cylinder on our EP60 because the spring had broken in two places and wouldn't come anywhere near closing the valve.

Compressor UP6 25 125, runs all the time but is only under load for a short time, should it shut down between loads?

This unit will shut down if unloaded for a set period of time. Usually 5 to 10 minutes. This time could be longer if some one has changed it from the factory setting. There is a timer in the control box that starts counting down when the unit unloads. If it stays unloaded long enough for the timer to count down the unit will stop until the air pressure drops to the low set point on the pressure switch. It will then start up. If the unit loads before the counter counts down the timer starts from the beginning when it unloads again. This cycle continues until you manually shut it down or you stop using air long enough for the timer to reach Zero and shut down.

When shutting down the compressor, oil comes out intake filter

hi there,
well,if your air compressor was shut off this due to pressure switch w/c auto switch off your compressor, the pressure switch acquired already the cut off pressure.if the pressure goes down the cut in set up reached it will start your compressor
to run.
regarding oil spillage when shutting down check the oil level on the sight glass of crankcase
a red line indicate oil should not exceed on that level line,if the oil exceed try to drain oil.,on the side bottom of engine there is a drain plug.until on limit level .,besure that machine is shut off/breaker is off.have a nice day don't forget to rate me,thank's
