Question about Acer Aspire 5315 Notebook

Jun 26, 2009- hello there, i've got a problem with my pc.the sound just went off and i look at the device manager and the sound icon have yellow sign.please anyone can tell me whats wrong with my pc?how can i restore the sound? thank you, rob

    i am trying to reinstall the driver but still i cant get sound.it says code 39.the driver is missing or currupted.how can i install the driver correctly?

What you can do is go to the control panel then click "Sound". And on the Sound window you will see the tab called "playback" click on it. Then, in the dialog below the tabs you'll see your audio device the main sound from your laptop and another one. Click on the one which you have a problem with. If its your main speaker which is built in your laptop it will be easier to fix. If its the built in one you have the prob with then click it and click the "properties" tab. Click on "levels" and set them all on 100. I think that should help. since I have a HP laptop i think the settings are different because I have the realtech builti in speakers. If you have them then after you set the levels on 100 click on enchancements and checkmark the following: Environment, Equalizer, Virtual Surround, and Loudness Equalization. I think this should help!

The yellow ? against the sound device means the sound driver is not installed or was deleted. Reinstall the audio driver and you should get sound again. If you still get the yellow ? then the audio driver didn't install properly or the wrong driver was installed. Make sure the driver matches the version of Windows ie XP or Vista.

    It does help to know the exact make and model of your laptop as you had posted it as an ACER.



    Go to the IBM/Lenovo WEB site - support/download page and download the latest Windows XP or Vista device drivers for your model computer, Use this link :-

    http://www.ibm.com/products/finder/us/fi...



    You can download the various drivers and then you click on and run the variour drivers, they will then unzip and expand into a folder on C:\drivers Then install the various drivers from this folder.

Disconnect all your USB devices. Go to Computer Management/Device Manager and look at all the USB devices to see if any are flagged with a red X or yellow warning icon. My pc is ibm mt-m 82121yu.device manager show its audio driver is updated but sound it doesnot sound


See your sound settings in control panel, make sure that a little speaker icon is not grey, or choose sound device from list (activated one - possibly you are still using sound from motherboard, and must swith to your sound card).

Also make sure that your device has no exclamation signs in device manager, which would mean a bad or invalid driver, go to device manager and update the driver for device if device is yellow.

if your computer came with a motherboard disk the sound drivers could be on it
control panel sounds and audio,volume,advanced,speakers select appropriate speakers or
audio you will find 3 drop down lists make the necessary adjustments there or
control panel,administrive tools,computer management,device manager,sound video and game controllers could be a yellow question mark? right click to re-install drivers

I all of a sudden I have no sound period! What do I do?


Right-click My Computer, then left-click Properties\Hardware\Device Manager. Find your sound icon. Is anything listed in yellow or red. Yellow means you need a driver. Red means that's been disabled somehow. Right-click the "X"ed out icon and choose Enable. If you need a driver, then go to dell.com, then Support & Drivers, enter Model or service tag (Service tag is usually on strip of white on the bottom of the laptop), then find Audio and download the most recent driver update, then install the new driver. If you still don't have sound, then it's possible that your speakers both went bad, or your integrated sound chip went bad.

check if you have the sound drivers of your pc.
Click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System click hardware then click device manger. check if there is a yellow question mark on 'sound and audio controllers. meaning your machine lacks sound drivers.

Pc working good, but no sound


If you're using Windows, go to device manager [right-click My Computer, click Manage, and click Device manager in the Computer Management Console Window], next access your Sound device and make sure it does not have any yellow exclamation [conflicting drivers] or question [missing drivers] marks. If it doesnt and you still dont have sound, you'll need to download and install audio codecs from your Computer, or sound device manufacturers website...good luck

Is that onboard sound device..?, it seems your sound device broken, if so you can't solve problem with installing driver, you must have PCI Sound Card to enable sound on your computer.

I don't think you're stuck on mute I think you're having problems with your sound card. Go to device manager; if there is a yellow or red sign on sound then right click and try reinstall driver. Let me know if you have any questions. Pls rate this solution.

Hello.
Go to Start - Control Panel - Doubleclick SYSTEM icon - Hardware - Device Manager and look under Sound, Video and Game Controllers.

If you don't have the drivers installed you will see a yellow icon with the name of the device that need the driver.

Else click on + to the left of sound, video and game controllers and you will see the name of the sound card in a drop down list.
