Question about HP Computers & Internet
1 long and 2 short beeps
Now video? All the lights are on? Tree beep codes? A long one followed by two shorte once? Found solution, at least with my two HP dv9000 series laptops. The video chip on the bottom side of motherboard needs to be re-flowed. The best way to check it is to apply decent pressure on the left side of keyboard until you feel that you’ve pressed the motherboard against the bottom side of laptop. Good for couple start ups unless you hit it hard J. If it works, find a manual on HP site how to take your laptop apart and use this video how to re-flow motherboard.

Depending upon your BIOS manufacturer, generally this POST error code means either a video problem or a motherboard problem. The video card on a laptop may not have its own RAM and it uses part of the main memory. Reseat the RAM module/s and id this doesn't work get the RAM module/s tested in another laptop or at your friendly computer shop.
If the RAM is OK then you have a motherboard problem, and this may not be cost effective to fix. Consider putting your money towards a new laptop, remove the hard disk and put it into an external USB adapter case and use it as an USB hard drive for backup etc.
