Hi Friger , I want to help you with your problem, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? I have sent a message to Franke on this in order to obtain a service manual. We should wait for their reply. This model is the Swiss Mambo ? This product was released in 1994 and so I doubt anything useful will come of my enquiry

I cannot find the service manual - or another manual or user guide for the Franke Mambo coffee machine. I assume that means the Swiss Mambo model. Please you direct to me to a place where I can download one or otherwise obtain one ?

F17 means insufficient water supply. It could be the water tank is not seated correctly. But it may be the filter behind the tank is blocked. Does it come on all the time .. or just with coffee or Hot-water ? If it comes on with just one then it may be that the coffee or hot-water pump is defective. regards
Is the floating magnet in the water reservoir floating ? If yes, you will have to check: 1) the micro switch which is located just beside the magnet (open the machine to check it with and ohm-meter) Check it with a small magnet that you have 2) if the micro-switch is OK with a hand-held magnet the floating magnet may be de-magnetized 3) if everything above is OK, the input on the control board is perhaps defective
coffee piston might be blocked or in the worst case flow meter might be scaled up or not sending signal but most of the case will be coffee piston blocked up.
The brewer should be de-scaled at least every 3-6 months. Scale is harmless, but if left unattended, it can hinder optimal brewer performance. De-scaling your brewer regularly helps maintain the heating element, removable water reservoir and other parts of the brewer that come in contact with water. Better water quality and water heating means a better cup of coffee, tea, hot cocoa or iced beverage. We recommend de-scaling your brewer at least every 6 months (every 3 months if your water has a high mineral content). The de-scaling process involves using 48 ounces of undiluted white vinegar.
Take 48 oz of white vinegar. place in tank. pretend you are making coffee (Do No Use K Cup). let the water fill you mug. then empty that mug. Do it again until tank is empty. then let sit for 4 hours. Then fill with fresh water to the top. let that tank of water run thru. towards the end taste the water. If you taste vinegar..use more clean water, until the taste is ok.
I tried to help you. Please help me and Vote/Rate this response. Thanks and good luck
Either purchase packets of De-scale or purchase citric acid. Take 1 tbs and mix in water until completely dissolved. Use cold water. Pour into filling chamber. Run through machine. Rinse with purified water until all is clear. NO after taste. Don't use tap water in these machines. Use a purified water. Coffee still tastes good, and no calcium buildup!
There is a lever inside the door on the right. It is at the top in the center. Pull it back one click and try again. The crunching noise does it sound like a clicking noise?
