Question about The Great Outdoors TG560N (NG)

1 Answer

I bought a great outdoors gas grill (tg560n) and had it converted from lp to ng at the store (Lowe's). Now I have moved and ng is not available and I would like to hook into the propane tank at my new home. My question on converting from ng to lp has going into this black-hole that has no answers. I don't care what parts I must purchase - I just want my grill to work.It can't be that hard if a high school student can convert it from lp to ng.

I have ordered the part you recomended in my attempt to convert back to lp gas system. I contacted Lowe's and they were no help at all. My new question to you is can I use a orifice designed for a different grill manufracturer that is more willing to sell pre-drilled orifices?

I found the SPUD orifice but have no idea on the dill size. I almost to the point of setting my grill on fire and start eating at Burger King, McDonalds...

You will require new gas orifice (hole is smaller), and LP regulator.

Part # 80034 is the regulator/hose assembly $46.51

However I am finding it difficult to find the replacement orifice - as the OEM does not list the orifice diameter.

It's called a SPUD orifice - and they are intentionally un-drilled when new - and you drill it out to whatever size the manufacturer recommends.

Lowe's may be the best resource for this orifice, and may also have info on the orifice size as well.
It looks like a bushing....

there is no "brand specific" orifice - however you NEED to know the size and pitch of the thread going into the grill burner tube.
    1/2", 3/8" (up to 5/8") NPT - 32.

they ARE relatively cheap - about $2-4 ea at Lowe's... and just return the one that doesn't fit.

Wait until the regulator arrives, then you can see if the hose fits. they might not have changed the orifice size (if they didnt know any better).

Just let me know if you require more help once the assembly arrives.

    thanks!!

Convert gas grill natural

ducane will not make these available anymore because the ducane family no longer owns the company and the models since 2007 are all made in china with poor quality controls. conversions are simple but the parts will not come through ducane or weber. replace the orifice in the tip of every control valve and replace the regulator. that is the only difference in fuel types.

Can I convert a NG Vermont Castings BBQ to Propane. moving and new house has no NG available. Model SCS 5005.

Unfortunately, Peter, for safety reasons, VC grills are not approved to be converted from one gas type to another. Each grill is manufactured, tested and approved for it's specific gas type. Converting it from LP to Natural Gas places all the liability on you, if something should go wrong as a result of the conversion. Further, you would notice a significant change in the heating ability and the lower flame height, when set on high. The reason for this, is that LP Gas burns cleaner and hotter than Natural Gas in an outdoor environment.

I know you would be happy not having to refill the tank, but I think you would really disappointed in the performance of the grill, if converted to Natural Gas.

I hope this helps you and Happy Grilling!! Thanks for choosing FixYa.

Can i get parts to convert my capn cook 4 burner bbq grill to lp

The BBQ's Galore grills are the only ones that are approved to be field converted. All you need a 4 LP Gas Burner Orifices and a Hose Regulator Assembly to hook to a LP Gas grill tank. You can buy the orifices from BBQ's Galore and the Hose/Regulator Assembly from any hardware store or home improvement center that sells grills & accessories for about $30.00. Gas grill burner orifices are pretty universal, so any LP Gas ones should work.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Is there a conversion kit for Jenn-Air Model No: 720-0061-LP to convert from LP to Natural Gas?

Matt, I am not aware of one. Nor, whether it's approved or not, by the manufacturer, Nexgril.
My best advice is to contact their Customer Support Dept @ 800-913-8999

Keep in mind, it you are able to convert it, the gill will no longer get as hot as it does with propane.
Propane burns hotter than Natural Gas in an outdoor environment.

I hope this helps you and Happy Grilling!! Thanks for choosing FixYa.

I have a Weber Silver B grill that I purchased 12 years ago.I would like to convert it from propane to Natural Gas. I have been told I cant! Is this true? If not, where can I get a conversion kit? Thanks!

Weber stopped selling conversion kits due to some legal action in 2008. There are no longer kits available. What you would have to do to covert it is order a replacement gas valve for the NG version of your grill just to get the orifices. Then you have to replace the LP regulator with a NG regulator. Typically most NG grills do NOT have a regulator but local building codes will require a NG regulator and a different gas line hose.
Conversion of a BBQ gas valve to NG is a matter of drilling out the orifice to a larger hole in an LP orifice.
You will not find anyone that will perform this conversion for you due to legal liabilites.
If you want to convert it... you will either have to order the whole gas control valve for NG or drill out the orifices yourself in your current gas valve hoping your got the orifice hole size correct when you drilled it. Mind you all liability for doing this lies solely with you.

Convert a 2009 S-320 LP to NG ?

Most grille or outdoor type stores (bass pro, walmart, lowes)sell the burners to swap the fuel type. The orfices in the burner are what is different and you must change it or complete combustion will not occur and your meat will taste horrible.

No spark

You will probably have to replace the electronic ignition module located directly behind the panel the button is mounted on.

Contact a retailer for replacement parts, as they may carry the module.

All else fails, you will have to contact the manufacture.

Uniflame gbc820w propane to natural gas adapter question

Most major hardware stores that sell grills have a universal conversion quick connect hose and gas line adapter fitting.  That.. you can probably handle.   Next you need to install a quick connect adapter from the house gas line or meter (unless one is already there for you).  Otherwise you may want to call your local gas company or fireplace/grill store to send someone out.    Last all LP to NG conversions require the orifices on the back of your grill's valves to be changed to larger holes.  (LP has more pressure thus small holes and NG must be larger.)  The trick is getting the precise numbered drill bit diameter(45-55) for your particular grill.  You can look on your manufacturers web site to provide this info.  Often times they can sell you a new set of orifices, predrilled, to the exact diameter for conversion.  Drilling out orifices is usually cheaper and pretty easy if you know where to find the bits (internet or specialty tool store).   Sometimes your local gas company or fireplace/grill shop will provide this service as well. Hope this helps, and good luck.
