My set, Panasonic, KX-TG6074B- comes with 4 handsets.
One of those 4 recently went thru the washer & doesn't work right anymore.
Bought another handset: KX-TG600A - & did all the "registering"
things it said. It beeped in response where it was supposed to - BUT -
it is not registered.
My only guess is that the original damaged one must be deregistered -
But it does not work right - how can I deregister it?
Is there some way to make a new signal from the base for all 4 handsets now????
I have a Panasonic KX-TG6700 base unit and KX-TGA670B handsets. We had a similar problem where we were no longer able to deregister the handset using the handset itself. We wanted to be able to use that slot that the broken phone was still occupyng. The solution that we found in the manual online was to hold down the intercom button for 3 seconds until the "in use" light turned on. Then press and hold the number of the extension you want to deregister until it beeps. At this point the base unit has freed that extension.
Here is the procedure as given to me by Panasonic Tech Support.
To DEREGISTER, using the handset you want to register, push MENU.....002.......335...and hit ok.
Then press the handset number you want to deregister (1 through 4). Don't worry if the handset says there is no link to base. This is because you just unregistered it so there will be no link.
To REGISTER, press and hold the locator button on the base unit until the green LED starts blinking. Then take the handset unit and press MENU.......001 and hit ok. Your unit should now be registered.
Good luck!
You will have to deregister the handsets that were lost or damaged using one of the orginal handsets. Menu 002, 335 OK.
Then register Menu 001
Press and hold locator
Press OK on handset
Enter Hand set Number to register
You actually need to reset the base unit in order to de-register all handsets currently registered to it, especially when registered handsets are no longer in your possession. We have the same phone, Panasonic sticker show model number KX-TG6071, but another sticker on the back shows KX-TG6074.
I'm repeating this post, but you should be able to reset the base unit by unplugging it, plugging it in, and unplugging it again. Before you plug it in again, hold down the intercom/locator button as you plug it in and hold it. It should emit a slightly longish beep to tell you it is reset. If not, just repeat the last step. After it beeps, you will be able to program the handsets as mentioned above.
You may need to de-register all your handsets, then re-register them one at a time. If your user guide does not describe how, go to panasonic.com and they have their literature and help guides on their site.

If you are still looking for an answer on dereg of a handset, the manual says Menu - 0-0-2 then 3-3-5-OK then select the handset you want to cancel/deregister

Exactly the same problem! :( How on earth do you de-register all phones?)
Handset stuck in #1, cant be unregistered and cant be re-registered with another number. The same info returns "no link to base". If a "reset to blank" procedure for the handset exists, that can be useful. Base is ok and works fine with another 2 units.
Thanks
That normal de-register procedure don´t help me at all, because the handset refuses to go unregistered. It will keep on the position #1.
I have google it a service manual for that handset, but the people charges for 7 euros to allow the download. Have anyone acessed that service manual ? I think that can be a "reset for factory default" procedure on that service manual. If won´t, it useless for me and I will throw the handse on a battery disposal container. Sorry if I insist, but in those hard times, we should try everything before spending more money. Thanks. B.Regards
