make sure your getting power to unit is this a split or package if split make sure water is not in exterior drain pan this will kick the float switch out push contactor in see if it comes on if not check the capacitor please give me a rating and vote
these heater control units were in a bad spot..cup holder right below..coffee spills have been known to get in control unit..can be expensive to replace..try a wrecking yard
Go to an auto parts store and have them check you battery and alternator!

It sounds like your alternator is going bad!

unplug unit and remove back panel and there will be a fan motor there you will have to plug unit back in and check for power and if there is power replace fan. if no power check wires to see if they are good if wires are good then it might be your contol board. most likely your fan motor
