I just purchased a Singer Pixie sewing machine and it won't sew because it won't pick up the bottom thread from the bobbin.

My singer pixie plus will not pick up the bobbin thread. how do i fix this.

Install a brand new needle and verify the machine is threaded correctly. Also, use the correct needle for the machine, thread and fabric. If that doesn't help, then the machine is probably out of time and needs service.

How to thread childs singer zig zag sewing machine

You didn't give the model name for the machine; however, if it's a Pixie or Pixie Plus, you can download the user's manual that shows you how to thread it and wind a bobbin from the Singer Sewing Machine site. The number listed above your question is not a legitimate model number; it might be a serial number.

Can't get the needle thread to loop over the bobbin thread. The bobbin thread is already thru the hole.

You only need the thread to loop over the bobbin thread to bring up the thread when you are threading the machine. If, you mean it is not sewing after threading then I need more information.

Bobbin thread will not stitch.

Have you had the machine serviced since you purchased it? This is something that should be done at least once a year.

Take the machine to a certified Singer dealer and explain what is happening. There may or may not be something that needs to be adjusted.

Your warranty is still in effect, but is now limited. Attempting to repair it yourself or having someone who is not a Singer dealer repair it will invalidate the remaining warranty.

I purchased singer bobbins to use in my singer 5050. I thread the machine and bobbin per manual instructions, but when sewing, the thread severely bunchens and knots up on the bottom side of the item I'm...

"Birdnesting" occurs when there is no tension on the needle thread to pull the bobbin thread. This is easily corrected by rethreading the machine, following the threading path carefully and making sure the thread is fully engaged in the tension mechanism.

Bobbin

IMPORTANT: Always use a metal bobbin, or the magnetized bobbin case will not be able to function properly, resulting in a lack of tension on the bobbin thread.
9a8cb19.jpg Step 1:
Turn the handwheel counter-clockwise until the needle is in its highest position. Raise the presser foot lifter. Pull the slide plate forward and remove the empty bobbin.
Step 2:
Place the filled bobbin into the bobbin case, and pull about 4" of thread from the new bobbin. Make sure that the bobbin turns clockwise when the thread is pulled, or you will not have correct tension when you begin to sew.
Step 3:
Hold the needle thread loosely with your left hand. Turn the handwheel toward you, first lowering the needle, and continuing to turn the handwheel until the needle comes to its highest position.
Step 4:
Lightly pull up the needle thread and pick up the bobbin thread which will appear through the needle plate slot. Then pull both threads to the back of the machine leaving a 4" thread tail. Push slide plate back in.

Hope this helps. -samson39
