Are you getting a Blue Screen error and can't read it because the computer keeps restarting?

If So, turn off the computer, then turn it on and immediately start hitting the F8 key repeatedly until you see Safe Mode. Scroll down past safe mode and you will see an option to Disable Automatic Restart. The next time you boot up you will be able to see the error message.

If it is a Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD) error message, you might need a system disc.

Hi my name is Juan an ps3 expert and this is what your problem is your bluray laser has stopped reading disk ,dvd bluray movies and games some lasers they still play regular dvds but not games some lasers play nothing and this is your case but don panic it can be fix you fix it your self or have someone fix it for you another laser will cost you around 65-75 depending on what model you have there is 2 different types of laser I can help you figure out which laser you have in the back of the unit there is a white label with the serial # and after the serial # is the model # it start with CECH--01can you please tell me what are the other two missing numbers between the H AND 01 look on your label and let me know this way I can tell you which laser you need to buy or if you want I do fix ps3 I do sell ps3's and parts on ebay I am a trusted power seller my Id is flacooo1 you can let me know here or on ebay which model # you have thanks and good luck

how many times have you tried to play the disc?
the 360 is prone to many disc read errors, and most of the time if you just keep trying to play the disc it will work. xbox recognized the problem, and with the new dashboard update you can install games to your hard drive which minimizes the time the disk is spinning, which in turn minimizes disk read errors.

if it doesn't play, I would deffinetly try getting a new copy before sending in the console. getting a new copy is just a trip to the store, sending in the console will take a month.

yes its 100% lens problem.the lense of the ps2 consists of two parts,one is the one that reads the dvd disc and the other one that reads the cd-r only.the dvd reader is already busted that is why it only recognises only some cds which are cd-r's.try replacing the lens and you can play dvd discs again.hope this one helps
