Mine has the same problem and I work for a company that uses mac's that also have had the same problem. It is a design fault. Take it to your nearest apple store and state this and they should change it.

Apple's limited warranty only covers hardware defects or anything that can be considered Apple's fault, such as MacBook was shipped with a cracked top case. In your case, your going to have to buy a replacement due to it probably being user caused. Your looking at around 75 dollars for the top case which comes with the keyboard.

sounds like the keyboard is failing check for debris under the keys use a can of compressed air, q-tips, and rubbing alcohol. If this doesn't fix the issue you will need to replace the top case (aka keyboard)

Hej. Yesterday, suddenly my Macbook air´s keyboard and the touchpad started not to react. I didn´t do anything, just let my laptop on the tabel for 5 min. and when I came back, it wasn´t...

when your keyboard and touchpad are not working, try to connect an usb mouse and keyboard to the laptop, just to be sure the system is responding.
if the usb devices work, you can be pretty sure there is an hardware problem. if the usb devices don't work too, maybe the system got stuck, and the best thing to do is a system reset

if the usb devices work, give a try to the apple hardware test to see if it detects anything.

Macbook lid wouldnt close, now it closes but catches when it is opened it is not smooth open and close.

Either hinge inside the case is bent or the "lid" is bent. the only way to fix this is to replace either the "lid" or internal hinge.

Can I add backlight to my 13 inch macbook (unibody)?

Do you mean the behind the keyboard backlight or something else?
As far as I'm aware only the macbook Pro models have KB backlighting so without a motherboard change you are probably out of luck

Macbook sleeping with top case attached

what do you mean plug it in, why have you taken the macbook apart in the first place, why would you take it off? because what your talking about is this, http://jadescomputer.com/images/jc_applekybd_13inmacbook_A.jpg Since its not a customizable Notebook PC, if you "tried" to upgrade the macbook, you may have done something wrong and that may be the reason since when you take apart a mac and put it together again, chances are if you have no exp. it wont work. I should know since im trained in Apple Macs. All you can do is if you are on a apple protection plan, Apple might fix it for you, depending on what you have done, or they may not since you might have lost your warranty to the Macbook. Regards

Cracked keyboard

Are you sure it's a macbook and not an ibook? The macbook has an embedded kebboard. It's ribbon cable and connectors are inside of the laptop as opposed to the ibook, which is installed on the top case. The Ibook did have issues with the clear or green ribbon cable squeezing up from under the right side.

MacBook Case cracking

Does it get stuffed in a bag or locker with other items? Is stressed placed on it? Nothing just cracks on it's own. There is no known Apple service programs for cracked cases, only discolored ones. You may want to re evaluate the life of the laptop, especially if it's constantly transported. Has it ever been dropped?
