Universal Remote Code for DR-MV7

I was wondering if anyone knew whether or not the JVC DR-MV7 can be operated using a universal remote, if so, does anyone know where I can find the code? I've looked online and used the codes that came with the universal remote none of which work. The universal remote is an All-In-One Big Easy, model # URC-3300B02.

Why are you using a CD-R? You need to use a DVD-R! Or DVD+R.

SOURCE: My JVC DR-MV7 will play

My JVC DR-MV7 will not accept any disc for playback. I insert a movie disc and it consistently rejects them. After about 15 to 20 attempts, sometimes it will stay and begin reading the disc. It also sounds like some internal components are encountering some resistance (moving parts inside?). Any ideas?

SOURCE: Need codes

Unit does not have a manual, but I did find this -

For brands that require programming, there are two ways to program: Using Code Lists or Code Search. Use Code Search if the code lists are not available or if the codes from the lists do not operate a device.

Programming a Device using Code Search:

  1. Manually turn ON your device (TV, VCR, Cable Box)
  2. Press and "HOLD" CODE SEARCH
  3. Press and release the device button you want to set up (TV, VCR, Cable Box) However, if you are using AUX for a device, press and release AUX first and then the device button for the type of device to be programmed (TV, VCR, or Cable). The selected device button will flash once.
  4. Release CODE SEARCH.
  5. Press OFF/ON repeatedly until the device turns off (you may have to press up to 100 times at a rate of once per second).
  6. Once the device turns off, press and release ENTER.
  7. With the device on, press any other button. If the device responds, no further programming is required. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 1-6.

Programming a device using the Code Lists:

  1. Find codes for each device and brand below.
  2. Press and "HOLD" CODE SEARCH.
  3. Press and release the TV, VCR or Cable button you want to set up. If programming AUX for a device, press and release AUX first and then the device to be programmed (TV, VCR or Cable). When the selected device button flashes proceed to the next step.
  4. Enter the three digit code from the TV, VCR or Cable Box code lists.

  5. Release CODE SEARCH.
  6. With the device on, press another button, for example CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 1-5 using another code number from the lists.
Let me know if this works, and if not, I'll keep looking.

SOURCE: new dvd will not run

I learned too late to NOT try and do anything fast with this or any such machine. Wait very patiently for the results of the button you just pushed. I'm suffering for my impatience with the same unit. However, you can try this. Mine says it cannot read the DVD-- whether store-bought or one I made. I have gotten it to play by hard-starting the player. Press and hold the On-Off button on the unit for at least 20 seconds. Unplug the unit-- I read for 5 seconds, but do so for about 30. It might not play after the first try, but it did eventually. I'm searching right now for a more advanced re-set-- try to get it back to real factory-- right out of the box. Mine won't format for VR mode, let alone the playing problems I have. Hope this helps.

Better to buy original replacement remote, if universal works it will have limited functions.

If you have a universal remote, it should have a code search function you can use to find a suitable code.

Codes for JVC HR-XVC17

Refer to the instructions that came with your RCA universal remote. There should be a list of devices such as TV, DVD player, etc. Try to find your JVC device listed along with the code(s). If no luck, try using the code search routine described in the instructions.

I lost the remote control, how can rewind the hsv tape. Thanks.

There should be a rewind button on the front of the main unit (usually indicated by either REW or 2 arrows pointing to the left), this should be next to the fast forward (again indicated by either F-FWD or 2 arrows pointing to the right) as well as PLAY and STOP - for the VCR. The only thing you would need the remote for is to set the clock and/or perform setup for the DVD player as well as timer recording. Try a universal remote which will make fast forward, play, stop, record (to VHS) and rewind easier.

Hello, I am trying to find the universal code for a S&V 21544NC TV REMOTE CONTROL. Can anyone please help? Thankyou

There may not be a code for whatever device you wish to control. If the remote is older than the unit, there won't likely be a code in any 'universal' remote.
Also, you need to include both the remote's maker and model as well as the same for the device you want to control
