Enter into menu, go to picture settings, and select the system settings option, and make this adjust to "Auto". If it too do not help you, contact any service technician. Will be a fault in the main board. Gopakumar Gopalan Google
It is almost for sure a bad connection at you wires. To show in black and white means your red and green are reversed or bad. I am guessing you have this hooked up with component.
If the tv is not a plasma unit which are expensive to run I would not be bothered completely turning off the power. I have a power supply readout connected in the mains power and Like you I believed the hype about switching every thing off but I learnt that the cost is virtually nill. to run. For a example I have 2 moniters + 1 computer+1 printer +1 tube type TV+ clocks( all on standby) + night light and the cost is .001 cents /kilowatt hour.. IT climbs to .002 cents when the 2 fridges cut in then drops back when they cut out.. Another point is when you continually switch electronic units on and off they will suffer more failure than leaving them on stand by
Check the adapter itself bow out, when it is plugged to Wall AC socket. Do not load it to TV, and check this. If it blows up, the fault is with the adapter itself. If it don't, the fault must be within the TV circuit.
hi all the black screen solution for me was this (this is assuming you have alba brand tvs and have the black screen BUT can still hear the sound) i after much fekkin around with it eventually found the solution in it (its the bloody backlight brightness in the settings you need to turn it from high TO LOW) ....... now this can be a bit tricky because usually when you have the black screen problem if u unplug the tv for a few hours and plug it back in you only get or should get probably like 30-1min of picture time before the picture goes black so u have to be reallllly fast with the menu button to get into settings before the picture dies (i learned the sequence for my alba lcd32880hdf) it was the following (for this part use the remotes arrows the one with the ok button usually in the centre of them) turn the tv on then click menu then press the up key 2 times then press ok then use the right arrow/button twice (although u cant see what ur doing ur navigating the menu hehe) then press the down arrow/button seven times before finally pressing the left arrow/button (once) <-- (now this bit may need to be done twice if you can remember setting ur backlight to max use it twice it will put it on minimum if in doubt only press it the once remember to totally power the tv off before repeating the steps to reset menus default posistions) remember thats the solution i found for my tv stands to reason (since i did infact buy another tv same brand different model which got the same problem) that this could be a solution for all alba tv users try it worked for me 2 times if ur not sure of the menu look up you tv models menu navigation online to find out the buttons you press gl hopefully it works for you too
Tried all combinations of scart connections and channel settings ,without result. Finally connected an external freeview box to VCR AV2,with through aerial feed to TV.Setting TV toEXT-1 and VCR to AV2 and with scart to phono adaptors connected box audio and video "out "with phono leads to audio video "in" using an adaptor into the TV scart socket.

Although symptom is showing that AC Adaptor is not working as its not providing power to the unit. I will suggest you to perform some basic troubleshooting steps. Check if outlet is working if not check with known working outlet. If you have a multimeter you can the output of the AC adaptor.
Also you can perform full power cycle and component discharge. Take the battery out and disconnect the AC adaptor press the power button and hold about 7 seconds. After that put the AC adaptor in and test again.
If issue persist take to nearest Service center check with known working AC adaptor. After that I believe you will figure out the best solution.
