Re: sound problem

Assuming your wiring is correct, and assuming your sound is not muted... click the Start button, then click Run. In the box that pops up, type services.msc and press enter. In the window that pops up, scroll down until you find an entry for Windows Audio. Right-click it, and choose "Start" or "Restart" (whichever is available).

If this does not solve the problem, you should reinstall the audio drivers for your computer, which can typically be obtained from the manufacturer's website.

Long delays after clicking mouse, words do not appear as fast as I type them, and screen freezes often. Help please!

Have a look at your memory usage. Also do a check for a virus. Check that the Processor is OK. There should be software that will check the operation of your computer. Run that and it will tell you what the problem is.

Sapphire mini pc no sound

Sometime to enable audio trough HDMI you need to use alsamixer from the terminal to check if the audio is on.
Look for S/PDIF (probably you will find more than one) and enable it pressing 'M'.

My cd rom wont play soft ware I only get audio but i dont hear motor turning disc and does not play took side off aand checked conections all ok checked in device manager its says its ok

If you can get audio from your CD-Rom then it is working. From mycomputer right click on CD drive select properties from there you can see what if any problems you are having it might just need to change auto play options. If you right click on CD-drive and select explore if you can see the files on the CD you can find the .exe file that will run your software. Let me know if this helped. Larry

Ncr 5633 currency dispenser

Sounds to me like it is only configured for one bill type, in diagnostics is a menu choice called "learn bills" to teach it the bill types ie. type 1, type 2 and type 3 etc. but you'd need the advanced diagnostic access disk or usb to go there.

Hi infofreak,
Try to follow these steps one by one.
1. Remove the power supply cable from the hard disk, CD/DVD, floppy drive or any other device you might have.
2. Check the wires that go to your front panel ;pwr sw, reset, hdd led, pwr led, speaker etc. Make sure there are at the correct position.
3. Now turn on your computer, if ok you should see some info on your monitor screen.
4. If ok, you can put back the power cable to hard disk only left the others open. Turn on the computer , if ok then proceed with other device one by one. If something wrong in between then maybe your power supply isn't deliver enough power to your system. Get a larger rating power supply.
5. If step 3 is not ok, then take out the power cable on the motherboard from the power supply. Wait a few seconf and place it back to the connector. Make sure it is securely fit, you should hear a click sound once it is fitted in. Turn on your computer.
If Ok repeat step 4.
6. If still not ok, as step 5 this time take out the CPU.

Try the above steps and see whether they can solve your problem. Good Luck

Pc is not starting up

I'm sorry to tell you but your cpu has probably fried. Your pc hanging a lot probably meant something was overheating and the fact that you say your cpu is not hot when you have the cooling fan off of it means it is probably the cpu. When you first turn your system on without a cpu cooling fan, the cpu should be slightly warm, although I do not recommended running a cpu at all without a cooling fan or even touching it when it has power.
