Fuse on furnace keeps tripping

I have the air on and all of a sudden the furnace is not working, called repair man he said it was the fuse. There was an 8 amp in there which the inside of the furnace says not to use more than an 8 amp. So just to keep it working till I could get another fuse he put in a 15 amp with a trigger. That evening it went off again and I pushed the trigger to start it up again. Can't figure out the problem. This fuse box is on the outside of the furnace and only controls the furnace. It is almost impossibe to find an 8 amp fuse in any hardware store. Is it a problem to keep the 15 amp in there? What do you think the problem could be?

You should not leave the 15 in. Should not even have an 8. This should be a five. The fuse is tripping because of a short. Yes, possible "dangerous situation." Nothing against your tech but 4 eyes are better than 2. Obviously he can't figure it out, find someone who can!!

Have a carrier 92 furnace. electric motor will not kick on...just hums. red light on circuit board flashes...help?

see this causes and fix it. God bless you
If the furnace won't run, check the electrical service panel for a blown fuse or tripped breaker. Also make sure the power switch on or near the furnace is turned on. Check the unit for a reset button and try it. Some units have a built-in breaker or fuse panel.
However you can have a missing 1 phase , test with the VOM, for to measure voltage. Or motor need repair for winding trouble, bearing. If you do not have enough experience call some electrician.
God bless you

Goodman air conditioner not starting

Hello my name is Heath it will be my pleasure to assist you. First thing to do is go to the furnace take off the lower blower door and locate the circuit board turn the power off to the furnace. In the circuit board there should ba a small car like fuse usually 3 or 5 amps check the fuse it is probably blown replace the fuse with the same amperage fuse and then turn the power back on on the furnace and check the operation of the furnace.

The thermostat kicks on but the furnace will not

See if the fuse is tripped in your circuit breaker. The thermostat is battery powered and sends a signal to the air unit. It does not actually know if the air unit runs, the only feedback the thermostat gets is a change in ambient air temperature.
If the fuse is tripped, switch it on. If it refuses to stay on, then it is time to call the local air people.

There could be a number of other potential causes.
1-Ignitor failure
2-vent blockage
3-tripped rollout safety switch
4- tripped limit control
Etc...
Look at the door of the unit for a explaination of the number of flashes of the light. This may get you started in the right direction.

I have a 15 year old Coleman Propane 130,000 Btu force air furnace, Model #BGU13020 forced air furnace. Afer the unit runs for 5 to 10 minuets, the flame will start to shuter and then it will trip the heat...

DO NOT attempt to repair this yourself. LP gas is a very unforgiving gas. Sounds like your heat exchanger is plugged. Yes it can be removed and checked, BUT it is not recommended. Trust your local repair tech. Any heater 15+ years old should be discarded.
