SOURCE: I have on Sony KDF55E2000. 55 inch projection. Power wont stay on

Hi,
It is clear symptom that lamp is near to end of its wroking life and tv needs lamp replacement.
Please replace lamp in tv to get it back in business. Lamp replacement procedure would be written in user manual and its easy.
Please buy Sony original lamp for good picture.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

I have a Samsung un32eh5300fxw with a non-working backlight. I'm unsure on this model has the LED backlight driver is built into the power supply, mainboard, or the t-con board.

Take off the rear and check the high voltage circuit. 120 volts enters follows by a fuse into a small high voltage transformer, then on the other side a capacitor (100 uf rated 450 volts). Check the DC voltage here. I got 380 volts. Should be at least 390 volts or more. If anything less, you will need to replace this capacitor. I used two capacitors from some old power supply - 150 uf and 220 uf rated at only 400 volts connected them in parallel and TV is back to normal.

Samsung TV used tda9381ps/N3/3/1774ic nopicture nodisplay plainretrace line

High voltage is needed to power the screen. Check the high voltage circuit. Take off the rear panel. The high voltage is need where the 120 volts. There is a high voltage transformer and on the output the volts should equal at least 390 volt DC - check it at the capacitor. If not, check the capacitor. The one in the TV is 100 uf rated at 450 volts. I put in a 370 uf rated at 400 volts.

My Mitsubishi DLP WD-73873 model television only powers up when I press the Menu and Input buttons simultaneously. The tv also will power up by itself occasionally. Anyone having a similar problem?

  1. Yes, this happened to my Samsung. It was the high voltage circuit on the power power. The TV has a chip that check all the circuits on all three boards. When a circuit is low, then it won't turn on. I checked 380 volts at the capacitor connected to the high voltage transformer. It should have been at 390 volts. I took out the 100 uf rated at 450 volts, but only have two capacitors lying around: 150 uf and 220 uf rated at 400 v. I connected them in parallel make them 370 uf at 400 volts, and the TV is now working fine.

Hy i have samsung ue40d5003bw and half of display (up) is horisontal lines with picture and half of the diplay (down) is clear picture.

Samsung uses a power board with one capacitor. (Ignore the video and input boards.) Check high voltage across the capacitor - should be 390 to 400 volts DC. If not the capacitor needs to be changed. Samsung uses 100 uf rated at 450 volts. I replaced it with 370 uf rated at 400 volts. (Did not have a 450 volts lying around.)

My LG 42LH5000 TV is not turning on. A few days ago suddenly switched off and now it doesn't turn on. The red LED is always on. If I unplug it turns off and when I plug again the LED is red again.

I had the same problem with Samsung. A web search located the issue being the capacitor. Take out the back and look for the capacitor near where the power line enter the TV. It was a 100 uF at 4050 volts capacitor. checked the DC voltage to be 381 volts. Got two old capacitor from an old TV - one was 150 uF at 400 volts and one was 220 uf at 400 volts. It turned out that it needs two in parallel (making 370 uf at 400 volts. Took out the under rated 100 uf and replaced it with these two. Checked the voltage to be 390 volts. That did the job. Samsung must have tried to save money by putting in a 100 uf at 450 volts. .

SAMSUNG TV UN65JU6700F RED LIGHT BLINKS 6 TIMES . TV DOES NOT COME ON AT ALL

My Samsung 50 inch had the same problem. Searched the web and it was the only capacitor in the power board that needed change, voltage was 382 volts. Replaced the old 100 uf 450 volts capacitors with two capacitors 150 uf 400 volts and 220 uf 400 volts in parallel and measured the high voltage at 390 and the TV was back to normal. (Make sure the capacitors from an old TV and computer power supply is rated for at least 400 volts.

TV wont turn on sometimes. push the on button, light turns from red to blue but no display or sound. If I disconnect the power cord for 15-20 min and plug it back in to the tv it will turn on and stay

My Samsung started doing that and it got worst and worst. Searched the web and find answer. It was the high voltage circuit. All TVs now are like computer and it check for 390 to 400 volts and if it is below, the TV will not turn on. Good thing the Samsung has only one capacitor showing the high voltage circuit. Measure the voltage was 381 volts. The capacitor was rated at 100 uf at 450 volts. From some old TV and power supply, got two capacitors rated 150 uf and 220 uf both at 400 volts. Had to connect them in parallel and took out the old capacitor. Now, my TV works fine.

Samsung has three board. The power board is the one on the right and is where the 120 volts plugin. There should be only one capacitor rated at 100 uf at 450 volts. Measure this voltage - should be 390 volts. If not, change this capacitor to 350 uf with a rating of at least 400 volts (to 450 volts). I was lucky to have a old microwave and a old power supply laying around the house. I have a 120 uf and 220 uf both rated at 400 volts, and when I connected them in parallel (370 uf) and changed out the old one. The TV works fine now.

I would first check for swollen capacitors on the power supply board. This model has about 9 under rated capacitors that usually go bad. The original caps are 3300 uF rated at 10 Vdc., and they should be replaced with 3300 uF capacitors rated at 16 Volts DC, 105 degree types. A failure on this board could also affect the other boards in the set so correcting this problem may not remove the symptoms.

Internal checking circuits, most likely the high voltage circuit. Take off the rear cover. From where 120 volts AC, leads to a fuse, then to a small high voltage transformer, then a capacitor. Check DC voltage at the capacitor. For me it was 380 volts. This capacitor needed to be replaced. Samsung uses a 100 uf rated at 450 volts. Found some old power supplies and got two capacitors - 150 uf and 220 uf both rated at only 400 volts. Had to connect them in parallel making 370 uf. The voltage check was 391 volts, but my TV is now working.
