Question about RIM BlackBerry 7210

Open Question

Cannot turn wireless on

When I select "wireless" on my 7210, the message at the bottom of the screen says "Turn Wireless On," as usual. I know this means my wireless is off. So, to turn the wireless on, when I click the tracking roller a messag box appears that says "Wireless turning off, please wait..." instead of turning on... and of course it doesn't turn on. Is there any fix for this, that I can attempt, or is there something Fatal likely happening? Thanks for your time.

I've had this happen several times. The only thing I have found that fixes it is to remove the battery then put it back in. That forces a reboot, and the problem is fixed. However, I'm hoping somebody else has a better solution. This is going to sound stupid, but I have a huge score going on Brickbreaker, and if I remove the battery, it will be deleted. Anyone know how to fix the problem without rebooting the device? Mine happens on a 7100t.

The rep is correct in trying to remove the battery. Check to see how much free space is left on the phone as well. On older blackberries the messages will if there is not enough room on phone. You can also look into upgrading the operating system on the phone.

SOURCE: Multiple Blackberry problems on the same phone! Please help!

I think the easiest way to resolve as many of these issues is by resetting your blackberry.

Hold down ALT+RIGHT SHIFT(CAP)+DELETE keys - I'm not 100% sure this works on your model but it is soft reset.

Go into Options, then select Security Options, then select General Settings, then activate the BlackBerry menu and select the option to wipe the device - Will reset all your personalised settings to default

I would connect the device to a PC and update the OS using Desktop Manager. If you recently installed any application, I would uninstall it as this may cause this type of behavior.

How do i turn the wifi on on my lenovo ideacentre b3?

Step 1:
In order to connect to a wireless network and the Internet on an IBM Lenovo machine, you must first enable wireless networking via your computer's operating system. Allow about five minutes to enable your IBM Lenovo computer's wireless capabilities.

Click the Windows logo in the bottom left of your screen. Select "Control Panel" from the menu. Click the "Network and Internet" icon in the Control Panel. Click "Network and Sharing Center." Right click "Wireless Network Connection" icon. Select "Enable." Enable Wireless via Switch Check your IBM Lenovo laptop for a wireless networking switch. It is usually on the front of the computer above the keyboard. Slide the wireless switch to the "On" position. Look for a wireless light on the front of the laptop. In some cases a light will come on to indicate that wireless networking is active. Other switches, when active, reveal a green strip of plastic.

Hi there!
There are two ways to connect your Wii to the internet; you can connect to your wireless network (if you have a wireless modem set up in your house), or you can connect using a wired connection directly to your modem.
If using a wired connection, you will need to purchase a Wii LAN adapter and connect that from your WII into your wired router.

Once you have figured out what connection type you will use (and if using a wired connection, purchased and connected your Wii LAN adapter) you will need to take the following steps:
  • Turn on your Wii and click on the "Wii" button on the bottom left of the screen
  • Click on "Wii Settings"
  • Click on the arrow on the right side of the screen and select "Internet"
  • Select "Connection 1 : none" (if you don't see "None" in Connection 1, click the Connection 1 button, then choose "Clear Settings")
  • Click on "Wireless Connection" and then "Search for an Access Point"
  • Select "OK" and the Wii will display all the wireless networks it finds.
  • Select the wireless network that is yours.
  • If it asks you to enter a password or key, then your wireless connection is password protected and you will need to enter the password that was setup to allow access to your network.
  • Select "OK," "Save Settings," and then "Yes."
  • Your Wii will test the connection and you should get a message saying connection was successful.
  • Connect your Wii to the Wii LAN adapter and connect that to your modem or broadband adapter. Please not that you will need to unplug your modem for a few minutes to reset the connection and you will also need to unplug the connection to your computer when you want to connect your Wii to the internet.
  • Turn on your Wii and select the Wii icon on the bottom left
  • Click on "Wii Settings"
  • Click the arrow on the right side of the screen and select "Internet"
  • Click "Connection Settings"
  • Click "Connection 1 : none" (if you don't see "None" in Connection 1, click the Connection 1 button, then choose "Clear Settings")
  • Click "Wired Connection"
  • Click "Ok"
  • Your Wii will now do a connection test
  • You should see a message saying the test was successful
Hope this helps!

While trying to get on the internet from my Dell Inspiron laptop, i keep getting a message that the wireless is turned off. I press the F2 key, which shows 2 towers - one with sound waves coming out and...

on the bottom right hand of your screen where it shows the time and then a bunch of little icons, there should be one for internet connections, probably looks like two computers, maybe with screens blinking. right click that and then click on whatever it say: manage network connections, maybe configure something. then you should be able to controll everything from turning on and off wireless and selecting which network you want to join.

I have sony vaio S. but the wirelees is not working no wireless host shown. how can i fix it?

Selecting the wireless function Follow the steps below to select the wireless function to be activated when you set the WIRELESS switch on your computer to on. Double-click (wireless switch icon) on the Notification area at the bottom right of the desktop. The Wireless Device Switch dialog box appears. Hints The appearance of the wireless switch icon changes depending on the selected wireless function. Point to the wireless switch icon to display the selected wireless function. Alternatively, you can right-click the wireless switch icon and select "show Wireless Device Switch settings" to display the Wireless Device Switch dialog box. Select the desired wireless function from "Wireless LAN" or "Bluetooth Device". Notes 5 GHz Wireless LAN is available on certain models only. You must select at least one wireless function to perform wireless communications. The 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wireless LAN functions employ different frequency bandwidths, thus are not compatible with each other. Checking the check box for both "Enable 2.4 GHz Wireless LAN" and "Enable Bluetooth Device" may cause poor communication performance or a connection loss due to electromagnetic interference. Click OK. The message "Setting up the wireless devices. Process may take several minutes. Please wait." appears first, then the Wireless Device Switch dialog box is closed, and finally the dialog box that describes what to do with the icon on the Notification area appears. Note While the message "Setting up the Wireless Devices. Process may take several minutes. Please wait." is displayed, do not: place your computer into power saving mode. turn off Windows or log off from the current user. turn on and off the WIRELESS switch. Confirm the settings and click OK. The dialog box about the icon on the Notification area closes. Hint If you check the "Don't show this dialog in the future" check box, the dialog box will not appear next time you close the Wireless Device Switch dialog. To analyze the network condition You can analyze the network condition if you select either or both of the wireless functions under "Wireless LAN" in step 2 above. Click the "Diagnose" button to start Windows Network Diagnostics. When the network analysis is complete, the result is displayed. If any problems are found, follow the on-screen instructions. Hint Windows Network Diagnostics is the function to identify problems the network has and present solutions to them.

Data connection refused

After cancelling the data plan with the wireless service provider, the message Data connection refused appears at the top of the Home screen on the BlackBerry smartphone instead of the branding of the wireless service provider.

This is caused may be you were previously subscribed to a data plan through a wireless service provider, and the BlackBerry smartphone is still configured to attempt to access the data network.

To resolve this issue, you need to turn off the Data Services feature on the BlackBerry smartphone. To perform this, you need to complete the following steps:
  1. From the Home screen, open the Options menu.
  2. Click on Mobile Network or Network.
  3. Set the value of the Data Services field to Off.
  4. Open the menu and select Save.
  5. Return to the Home screen.
  6. Turn the wireless transceiver off and then on again.
To enable (turn on) the wireless transceiver on the BlackBerry device, go to the Home screen and select the Turn Wireless On icon or open Manage Connections and select the wireless connection to be enabled. Once enabled, the icon will display Turn Wireless Off .

To disable (turn off) the wireless transceiver, go to the Home screen and select the Turn Wireless Off icon or open Manage Connections and select the wireless connect to be disabled. Once disabled, the icon will display Turn Wireless On.

I Hope it helped you.

Thank you for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

[1] make sure the switch for you wireless network is turned on, and I think it is either located between the screen joints and the keyboard, or right on the side of the computer [the side that always faces you when the computer is on the laps]. Next, check to see if it has detected any wireless Networks, you could do this by right clicking the icon for the wireless network, in your bottom right corner and clicking on 'view available wireless networks'. if they do not show, you will have to refresh. When the links are listed, select the one you wish yo connect to and click 'connect'. if it needs authentication, you'll have to provide a network key

The wireless card has dropped the IP address, to get the wireless router to issue the wireless card with a new IP address, right click on the wireless connection (the one with the red X) and left click on Repair.
When the red X disappears then you can connect to the Internet.
