Power switch broken

The power switch is broken on my Vornado AVH2. I just need a replacement switch. The unit runs when the leads of switch are connected. So it is definitely the power switch that is the problem. I am an electrical engineer so I can replace the switch myself.

What do you all think of wiring the leads together and just making it always on whenever plugged in? Is this a viable option? ps- same problem here, I'm not finding the correct switch available.

There is a round rocker switch at Home Depot which has a but instead of a snap fit for the same 20mm hole. The SKU is 1001385824 it’s a different make but fits. I used it on my fan. It works.

I found the switch. But the only place I can find it has a minimum order of over a hundred units.
The switch seems to be a Lamb Industries RR111C1021-116

Anyone have an idea where to buy just one or two? The website for Straight Road Electronics, Inc. let me order 2 but the next day they wrote back with the order cancelled because, despite their web form, they have a minimum quantity on it.

I have the exact same problem...Have you found a place to buy a switch for the AVH2? I'm a licensed electrical contractor and I can replace the switch myself as well...if I knew where to get a switch. Thanks.

Vornadofan electrical wiring. Old fan runs strong but replaced the wiring and now need to check which wires are what...can not find on vornado website, not in manuals either.

Good luck there. Vornado is very vague and does not disclose any information. If it is a vintage vornado, you can type the model number into the search box, hit images and they have a few showing the wiring.

Ok so i have a Pioneer DEH-P5200HD it started shorting out when i replaced my ignition . Now it wont power on . If i run a new power wire by connecting red an yellow wires "ignition an 12v to battery...

Sounds like something was shorted out while replacing your ignition or you damaged a ground wire. You can try connecting just the 12+vdc switched lead to 12+vdc power and then ground the receiver to a chassis ground somewhere else to see if it is just a grounding issue. The yellow lead (memory) will also need to be connected in higher end units such as Alpine as the audio amp pulls from the memory lead rather than switched lead.

Need to take appart vornado to clean

It depends on what type of unit you have. There are grill clips on the back of the unit that you will need to depress. Some models have screws that need to be removed in order to remove the grill. If assistance is needed please call us at 1-800-234-0604.

Vornado eh1-0020 was working fine and just suddenly stopped. No lights, no hum - just totally dead. Opened it, dusted, connections look ok. Anything else I can check or is it just

These heaters have a thermostatically controlled safety switch. It works very similar to your household iron for pressing clothes. On your iron, when the unit heats up the metal in the switch expands and "clicks" open stopping the power from heating up the element any more, then when it cools down it "clicks" closed and power is applied to the heating element again. Now here is the problem... in your heater, the elements are over-heating and causing the safety switch to "click" open stopping ALL power from going to the unit. IF you sit there long enough, you will eventually hear the "click" of the switch cooling down and then you will be able to turn it back on for a short time - then it will do it all over again. =( Unfortunately, this seems to be a common problem with this series of heater. There really is no "good" repair option as the price you will pay for someone to "fix" it, would probably be better spent going towards a new heater.

Model FA1-0013 TYPE SWAN SERIAL # MAY00 VORNADO FAN When you plug it in and turn on the switch it does not work.

The motor has a single-use fuse in the run winding; that may be tripped. Or there could be no power going to the motor. Some of the swans had a power lead that was too short and pulled out of the switch. Take the 5 feet/screws out of the fan and remove the bottom plate. Are any of the wires loose that go to the switch? One power lead goes to the white wire that runsd directly to the motor: is that hooked up? If you need more help, contact me.

Dishwasher suddenly has gone dead. No noise whatsoever. Have plugged it into another power source that I know works and nothing.

If you have 120VAC going to the unit, then you have one of possible many problems. Please check the following or have a qualified person to use a multimeter to check: 1. The door switch 2. An unplugged wire or broken wire within the unit or at the switch.3. Timers (especially mechanical timers) use a mode to turn the unit off sometimes the contacts break causing the need for replacement of the timer. If I have no meter handy, kill the breaker, I would remove the door switch leads(wires) and connect the two together using a little electrical tape, turn on the breaker. If it works it is the switch and replacement is needed. If not look at a broken wire or timer. You could disconnect the power leads to the motor and check if it is getting 120VAC in the run mode, If it is getting voltage and it is not running or it only hums it is burned out; if not timer, switch or broken wire would be a possibilty.
