when i switch it on to wash it starts draining and doesnt stop. i manually filled the drum up with water and it pumps fine but wont stop.

this is the electronics on the machine reacting to a fault .the electronic has detected an electrical component fault .for example a motor gone short circuit you can only find out what by testing the components with a suitable test meter or by acessing the machines own diagnostic facility and retrieving the error code .if cant test with a meter you need the manufacturers service engineer
