Not too uncommon. The float design is such that many units lack enough bouyancy to work well on wall climbing. New floats or added floats may help. S. Christian dansker01@msn.com

My Dolphin pool cleaner runs fine along the bottom of the pool but will stop and shut down when it ties to climb the side of the pool. If I move it away from the wall it will run around until it moves to...

The control board inside the motor pack is failing as the sensor for the units orientation is included on that board. The only way to fix it is a new motor pack. For additional information on repair parts or sending it in for service please contact Maytronics at www.maytronicsus.com or us thru www.arrowpools.net.

The dolphin maytronics does not climb the wall

Several possibilities to consider...

How old is the filter bag and is it clean?
Older bags or bags not thoroughly cleaned can resist water passing thru them to the point there is not enough downward pressure to allow the unit to 'bite' the pool surface and climb.

How worn are the brushes and tracks?
Worn brushes and tracks will slip once worn enough. Replacing them could fix the problem.

Is it trying to climb or does the unit start up the wall and immediately reverse?
If your motor has been replaced new style motors spend far less time climbing assuming most debris will instead be found on the pool floor. If it has not been recently replaced the program within the motor may be failing.

What is the condition of the pool?
Low water temperatures and/or algae can cause the unit to slip in place and as a result it will not climb. Eventually it will scrub enough to gain traction and will slowly progress up the wall. For temperatures below 70 degrees the unit will find in more and more difficult to climb the lower the temperature.

What material is the pool surface?
Some linered pools and fiberglass pools require climbing rings in the brushes. Do you have those? If so, what condition are they in? Worn rings or missing rings will prevent climbing those and other smooth pool finishes.

My cleaner works for a few minutes, climbs a wall and rolls over onto it's head.

If the problem always occurs when the pool cleaner starts to climb walls, there are a few things that you will want to check. First of all, if your pool has a vinyl liner, this pool cleaner has limited climbing ability. You need to check the flow of water through the cleaner with your flow gauge. It might be low. If it is, increase the water flow. Also, make sure that your hose weight positioning is correct. The cleaner should sit at a 45 degree angle at the bottom of the pool when resting when the weights are right.

It stops after 30 min. Lays on it's back then starts up again. Has trouble climbing the walls to the very top

There are several problems that could make these automatic pool cleaners fail to climb the walls. The cleaner could be too heavy. Empty and wash the filter bag and add floats if necessary. If there are excessive amounts of algae on the wall, you will need to brush the walls first. The algae can prevent the cleaner from climbing. Make sure that the temp is at least 65 degrees in the pool. Make sure that there is no water in the handle and that the bushes arent worn. If the cleaner is too light, add weights. Make sure there is nothing caught in the impeller.

Cleans only a bout 50% of my pool and doesnot clean walls. My pool shape is a foot print.

Both of these problems could be the installed floats. There are 3 of them normally installed, and they do have a finite service life. Old ones often absorb water, making the unit not cover the full pool area or climb walls, S. Christian dansker01@msn.com

Dolphin will not climb up walls.

What is you pool surface? It may need climbing rings to assist it on 'slick' surfaces like fiberglass.

Try moving the location of where you set the power supply from use to use to allow it's cleaning patterns to shift around for better coverage.

Won't go in shallow end to clean

If your floats have started to absorb water, the unit may become reluctant to climb the slope from the deep end to the shallow end, although it may still at least start to climb and clean the wall. There are 3 installed floats in the unit bottom plate: 1 "h" float and 2 pocket floats. Aqua Service Distributors in Sequin, TX had a good price on replacements. Good people, too. S. Aquabot Turbo T won't climb

1.`. Replace your old, water logged floats. They will dry out when the unit is out of the pool, and the unit will work fine until they water log again, which may takes as few as 10 minutes in the pool. 2. Stop using all those words *********** didn't teach you and probably didn't even know...This is a common problem. http://www.i-love-my-aquabot-automatic-pool-cleaner.com/ gives some really good insight, too!
