19'' Flatscreen Envision monitor, goes to ...

Our monitor, which has never been set to do so, started going to sleep on it's own about 3 weeks ago. It is very difficult to get it to wake back up. Sometimes it blinks off and on for a long time, before coming up. Other times, the screen stays black and it won't wake up at all. We tried it on another computer and it still does the same thing. We tried changing some computer settings and that didn't help it, either.

We finally had to change back to one of our old bulky monitors. I would like my flatscreen monitor back. What can we do to get it going again? Is there something we can change in the computer settings that will help?

Hoping the answer won't be that we have to have some expensive repairs on it, or have to purchase another monitor.

Thank you.
