In the freezer side there is a panel in the back. behind the panel are the evaporators. over the evaporators are heaters you will find one of then broken from water dropping on it the bottom one was broken on mine. put a fan to the freezer and thaw it out. get the model and serial numbers and look on ebay.com. or there is a place called http://www.repairclinic.com/
These are not hard to change but above all UNPLUG THE FRIG OR THEY MAY PUT YOU IN ONE.
The evaporator fan is located at the back of the freezer. It may be necessary to remove obstructions such as the contents of the freezer, freezer shelves, ice maker and the rear inside panel of the freezer. The rear panel may be held in place by retainer clips or screws. Remove the screws or depress the retainer clips with a small screwdriver. Check the fan for warped blades. if the blades are warped or mis-aligned, replace the blade. This fan also is protected by a shroud as well, and it will make noise if the fan blade is damaged and rubbing against it. Check the rear condenser fan as well for faults. It is possible that the noise is coming from the motor itself. If that is the case, you will need to replace the affected motor.
You have a bad defrost system on this unit, that's why you're freezing up. Call us with the model number and we'll get the correct part out to you right away. We hope to hear back from you soon.
the freezer panel has 2 fan motors, one for the i/m area and the other for cooling. there is 1 screw in the center of the panel, remove it and then the panel will have to be wedged out. it may seem like it is tight but go ahead and pull on the panel and it will come out. before you can do this, you will need to remove the drawer and rails so you can get into the panel easily. p.s. you didnt say why you want to remove this panel??? by the way, these units have problems with the fan motors causing poor cooling in the refr section.
I replaced my "entire" ice cube maker (tube, hoses, water pump, ice maker) and it still pooled water at the bottom. I removed the back panel in the freezer and noticed the ciols go through a defrost cycle and water forms in tray under coils. I removed the lower panel on rear of fridge -and found a drain hose near the water solenoid/pump. I blew compressed air into the hose and hopefully unblocked it so it can drain into the pan not the freezer.
I had the same problem, freezer full of groceries defrosting or crisper drawer freezing produce. Sears Appliance Repair sent servicemen out twice and both times I was assured the problem was fixed. After freezing produce the third time I insisted they come and get the faulty appliance. The replacement has worked perfectly since day 1. INSIST ON A REPLACEMENT
