Can you hear the fuel pump engage when you first turn the key forward? Do not attempt to turn on the truck but just place it in the on position you should be able to hear and feel the fuel pump for approximately 3 seconds. If not you have a fuel pump relay problem if not the pump itself.

does fuel pump run when you turn key to the run position...open gas cap stick in a funel put ear to funnel.. have some one turn key to run position......does check engine light come on when key in run position.......they have two very common problems....first the fuel pump relays and next very common problem is the ground for the ecm...main computer.....look at the battery then look at ground or negative wire you wiil see a smaller wire comming off the terminal. these will got to a bullet looking connector...cut out this connector and hook wires directly. even if not your problem it will be one day...write back if more needed

I have a 1989 Ford f150 drive for about 30 minutes it dies out or stop and want crank for about an hour

I would unplug the gas cap when it stalls; if you hear a hissing sound, change the gas cap, because it builds up a vacuum in the tank.

I have 1989 ford f150 and it turns over but wont start. I have checked the wire harnest, fuel pump, fuses, fuel relay, Help. It turns over and it has spark but not starting.

have you tried to spray starting fluid into the intake while cranking the engine over. if it starts then you have a fuel problem, possibly injectors or poor fuel pressure or volume. you say you check the fuel pump but not how. you have to use a gauge and not just push on the Schrader valve to see if gas is present. it could also be a timing issue.

1989 ford f150 turns over but want start

Run basic troubleshooting tests. Do you have spark at the plugs when cranking? Is fuel pressure correct? Is timing belt broken? Run compression test.

Why wont my 1989 buick lesabre wont start ?

Does it crank? Or there's no crank no start? If it cranks safely get under the vehicle and bang on the fuel tank while someone holds the key in the crank position with the vehicle in park. If it starts it is most likely the fuel pump.

F150 cranks but wont start. Yesterday I drove < 1 mile, turned off, woldn't start. Came back 45 min later= fired up and drove home. Swapped out coil and then cranked but no start. This a.m. fired right...

Hi, You did not mention what size engine is in this vehicle or mileage, but your starting issue sounds like it is related to the ignition control module. I am assuming the fuel pressure is ok at this point. The control modules are known to act up over time and can cause a driveability problem that your experiencing. The module will look like this;
