Question about Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z700 Digital Camera
Lens is locked up and I can't make it go back into camera. The camera is useless, and I replaced the battery - and re-charged battery with no luck.
The camera store didn't know what it was but said that to fix the mechanism it would cost $180.00 to $200.00. WOW.. If I would just get an estimate it would cost me $35.00.
Looks like I might need to get another camera and it won't be a Casio, this time, and its too bad because I like the camera..
I bought the same camera for my girlfriend, and had the same problem. If you jiggle the lens while using the zoom keys, it usually unlocks, and starts to work normally again. Regardless, this one is going back. I haven't had stick permanently yet, but It's bound to happen.
This won always seems to lock whenever zooming in or out, and the button is pressed when it's already maxed out or in.

Take it to home depot and have it clamped into a paint shaker, spray with wd-40 and shake for 3 minutes.
If the lens won't open, walk to the parking lot and chuck it as far as it can go, or skip it into a curb.
You are superior to this camera!
