Question about Sony RDR-GX300 DVD Recorder
I'm just writing to find out if anyone knows what to do about an ailing Sony RDR-GX330. We had an electrical outage here in town a few months back. What happened was, once the power came back, the DVD recorder just suddenly went ''frozen'' on the Welcome screen.
It practically hangs there without much progress. So far, nothing seems to work... the standard reset procedures, even unplugging the console for the alotted time doesn't help much. There were some times would it would appear to start up okay, only to hang after turning the system on after a good 15-30 seconds or so, after which it goes back to the frozen Welcome screen. I think the only thing that's running is the interior cooling fan. Am I missing something in the reset process, or could it be more than that? Any possible suggestions to get it back up and running properly is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Sometimes, the Sony documentation recommends unplugging the DVD Recorder for at least 30 minutes, instead of the regular 15 seconds. I know this timing makes a difference on DVR's.
