My friend the only solution you have their is to replace the damage IC, ceramic resonator and all electrolytic caps around horizontal circuit cause that's the only way you problem may solve. Since the IC is damage the only solution it can get is to replace the damage one and replace it with new one. You can find or buy IC and other parts in the shop specializing the same brand as you have. Also find a service shop in your place or a technician to help you fix your problem. So my recommendation is replace the damage part of the circuit. you can either fix it your self if you know how or you find someone or service shop to fix it for you.
Hope this solution helps your problem solved. If you need more assistance just reply to this post as soon as possible and i am eager and willing to provide you some assistance. Thank you and godbless

Retarce line

Diagonal retrace lines at the top are usually the result of bad electrolytic capacitors in the vertical deflection circuit most vert. deflection circuits derive operating B+ from a horizontal flyback transformer winding rectified & filtered usually around 24 volts the electrolytic capacitor on this supply loses capacity or may totally go open causing the retrace lines, sometimes other electro. caps in the vert circuit can cause this too, depending on the age of the tv you may find multiple substandard electrolytic caps it's best to test all for capacity & esr. Without knowing more details about your tv brand, model and/or chassis i can't help further.

Can i use 10nf3k ceramic capacitor to replace10pf3k ?

Hi Max,

Ceramic types are often found at the low range of capacitive values and electrolytic types are are the high end of capacitive values. Ceramic and electrolytic caps do certain jobs better when of one design instead of the other. The capacitive values may be the same, but there are other qualities that don't get printed on the part. One of the most noticeable differences is that electrolytic types don't do a very good job passing radio frequencies (RF). You'll often see several ceramic types in parallel (if needed) to get the correct amount of capacitance when a single electrolytic would appear to do the job in an circuit where the frequency is in the RF range. Audio Frequencies (AF) on the other hand are significantly lower and do not pose the same problem. There are other types of caps and they each have situations where they would do the best job.

In short, the developer / manufacturer selects all the parts based on a wide range of variables he needs to control based on design and testing. You should always replace components with like components, otherwise you risk adverse reaction(s) from one of those variables that had originally been contained.

I hope this was helpful & good luck!

Audio and picture go dead red light blinks 7 times

A protection circuit has cut in - possibly due to a fault in the line output stage (flyback transformer could be short-circuit and horizontal output transistor could also be shorted).

Assuming the power supply/HT rail is all OK, replace the above parts, touch up any suspect solder joints, check and replace any capacitors (electrolytic and the tuning caps in the collector of the horizontal transistor - always replace these caps (rated at around 2kV - 6kV) whenever you replace the flyback)

Check very carefully for cold solders on horiz. drive transformer also replace the electrolytic cap that shapes the horiz. drive signal - if you have a scope and manual compare the drive signal shape.
Some times using poor after market horiz o/p's also causes the problem - does the o/p heatsink get to hot to touch or does the horiz o/p blow immeadiatly?

Pictures shrinks.. Panasonic TC-20LM Television

Shrinking picture is a voltage regulation problem in the switch mode power supply, Possibly a cap used in the feedback circuit. Or an over current condition on the B+. This is a very tech intense repair because there is no magic bullet. If it is shrinking on bright scenes then you can bet it is a regulation problem, bright scenes draw more current from the power supply causing this effect. I would not suspect the horiz output because the regulation for this circuit usually comes from the main switch mode power supply. One diagnostic is to monitor the B+ going to the horizontal output and see if it fluctuates. If so you can bet it is a cap or optical coupler in the switch mode circuit.

Picture goes into horizontal lines while watching then you shut it off for 10 min. or so and it resets it self

solder connections in horiz.drive/output circuit.also solder the flyback transformer.if only 10 minutes you need to solder in the
horiz.circuit area.get a magnify glass and usually will see hair line cracks around the
components.

Come on then line horizal across screen then turs off

Horizontal line (up and down) is know as horizontal collapse. This is usually located around highvoltage section of the circuit. Because this circuit depends on certian frequencies and voltage protection circuitry will shut the set down. This will need a trained tv technician to fix this and can be expensive depending on the parts needed.
