It does not worth it. It's better you change its LCD.
It's original LCD is Samsung LTG430WQ-F02. But it is hard to find at cheap price.
But you can also change it with Sharp LCD screen which is spare part for the Playstation Portable (PSP 1000).
I bought one from ebay for 15 USD , replace, It is working great.
Search in ebay : "sharp lcd psp 1000"
I now have 2 dead zens. to open them up I used my finger nail to get between the 2 halves. you have to slowly and carefully work them apart. once opened up there are several small phillips screws that must be removed, once removed you can now flip the circuit board over exposing the battery which is taped down with double sided tape and the wires are soldered into the circuit board. I intend to cut the wires and solder in new battery and use heat shrink tubing to insulate the wires the wires. Now all I have to do is find replacement batteries. pepsiman
What you need to do is check the firmware. By doing so, set the device on "Disk Mode" and try to reinstall your firmware. Also make sure to back up all your files before doing so. If thats not the case, then it could be the battery life. Most of these reported cases all have to do with the battery performance. Freezing is the most common case of battery dysfunction. Make sure you get that checked out.
