In switches sometimes things break. Or springs break. It is a clear mechanical defect, but I don't think it is worth repairing this. Half an hour in the repair shop and it will cost you 100 dollar.
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.
Picasa also gives you superior photo editing capabilities than the Vivitar software and will work with photos from any digital camera.
Unfortunately, that's the way it is. The ViviCam 7020 does not record sound in video mode. You can add a soundtrack using video-editing software on a computer, but you cannot record one on the camera.
Sorry if that wasn't the answer you wanted to see, but there it is.
That is correct. The ViviCam 7020 does not record sound. You can add a soundtrack using video-editing software on a computer, but you cannot record one on the camera.
The 7020 uses SD cards up to 2GB in size and SDHC cards up to 8GB in size. You can use any brand as long as you stick to the major ones. The speed won't matter to the camera, though a faster card might download faster if you use a card reader instead of the camera.
