Need a copy of vehicle user guide which shows how to input the radio security code - that is assuming you have the security code which can be obtained by contacting the previous/original owner or the local vehicle dealership or manufacturer with VIN of vehicle

Safe mode car radio

You'll need to phone up the dealer and give them the year, make, model and vin # then ask them for the radio code and follow their given radio reset procedures, or have them do it for you.

The battery in my valkswagen died and when it was charged back up my raido stoped working what do i do?

you will need to find the security code for radio and put put that in for radio to start working again

if it is factory radio most car makers put a sticker in glove box that only has some numbers on it and no other info - that is usually the radio unlock code

if it is aftermarket radio it might be stuck into the owners manual - which will also tell you procedure for putting that code into radio

only other thing i could think of is that a fuse for radio has blown

good luck

My radio still says code I have removed battery

Hi, most security coded radios will display the word "code" or something similar when requesting code entry after power has been removed for some reason. the usual procedure is to simply enter the code at this point following manufacturer procedure.
If you have had more than 3 incorrect attempts at entering the code, the radio may have gone into codelock which locks any further attempts out for a period of time (up to 1 hour). the only cure for this is to leave the radio powered up so it can timeout at which point it may display the word "code" again.
NOTE disconnecting the supply to the radio while it is in this condition only serves to reset the timer and you have to wait even longer.

My radio stopped working after I accidently took out the radio fuse and put it back in

Some radios have an antitheft feature built in. When the power is disconnected (like in replacing a battery or if the radio was removed or stolen from a car) then you have to enter a code to activate it. Call the dealer and ask if they can help you with the code and procedures. Your owner's manual should have the procedure listed in it but the code should have been in the papers that came with your car when it was new. Again the dealer is your best bet. They will need your vehicle VIN and maybe even the radio serial number. There are some web sites that offer to sell you radio codes but I have had good luck with the dealers giving me them free.

My radio is locked. Have code but radio is off

Try to disconnect the battery negative terminal, then the positive terminal. Leave the terninals disconnected for about .30-minutes to clear the radio's memory.

After thirty minutes, connect back the negative terminal of the battery, then the positive terminal.

Then enter the radio code and see what happens. If it still fails to turn-on, then repeat the procedure.

1998 AUDI QUATTRO BATTERY DIED. RADIO IS NOW IN SAFE MODE.

Unfortunately, if I am reading this problem properly, you have a Blaupunkt radio in your Audi. Disconnection from power source and reconnection without proper (un)locking code will result in the permanent disabling of said radio.

It's a common problem in factory Blaupunkt radios installed in Volvo's, BMW's Audi's, etc. A very effective anti-theft mechanism indeed!
