I suspect something is wrong with the memory back up of the TV. It could be chip problem, or the power to the chip is lost due to a capacitor failure. Unless you are good at electronics it's one for the repair man.
probably a bad capacitor. if it cant hold the charge it will not power up the screen. it could have a blown fuse too. a local computer shop should be able to check them and even replace them. and they should be cheaper than best buy too.
