Because this tv is integrated with an NTSC (National Television System Committee) tuner only, you will need a converter box in order to watch television. Also, through my research, I noticed that this television is EDTV-ready (Enhanced Defintion Television, but you need an EDTV tuner in order to increase the picture above SDTV (Standard Definition Television). If you don't own this tv yet, I would advise you to check your options and buy a tv that uses a built-in ATSC (Advanced Television Standards Committee) tuner as this is now the standard on which tvs will be made.
