If you dont have the motherboard manual they you can look around the area of the bios battery and see if there are any open jumpers

failing this unplug the power cord from the pc and remove the bios battery (large silver watch type battery) and leadve it for around 10-15 mins

replace the battery then the power cord and when you boot
it will allow you to enter the cmos set up screen

hope this helps

My dc7100 sff when turned on gives 9 audible beeps that repeat 4 X Then continuously 9 silent beeps over and over Any idea what the issue is?

Here is the solution:

Beeps 9 times:- System not fetching code Microcode

"update" else replace the system board

That deals with your bios.

I would try resetting the CMOS first.

More on fetching code:

To clear CMOS:

Clearing CMOS*
The computer's configuration (CMOS) may occasionally be corrupted. If it is, it is necessary to clear the CMOS
memory using switch SW50.
To clear and reset the configuration, perform the following procedure:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly.
ã„CAUTION: The power cord must be disconnected from the power source before pushing the Clear CMOS
Button (NOTE: All LEDs on the board should be OFF). Failure to do so may damage the system board
2. Remove the access panel.
3. Press the CMOS button located on the system board and keep it depressed for 5 seconds.
4. Replace the access panel.
5. Turn the computer on and run F10 Computer Setup (Setup-utility) to reconfigure the system.
*When the CMOS button is pushed or the jumper is removed, both the power-on password and the setup password

PC start directly

Explain what you mean when you say 'when i open the pc from main switch'.
Also, something you should try is updating the CMOS, or in other words flashing the BIOS firmware. Go to your motherboards manufacturers website and see if there are any BIOS updates for it.

Beeps On Boot

Sounds like it could either be a video card error or the bios rom chip is faulty, first try to rplace the video card, if you still have the error, replacec the cmos battery or at the least take it off the mother board and leave the computer unplugged for about 10 minutes, then replace and start again, failing that the motherboard might be faulty which would have to be replaced.

also try different memory chips, although the code you describe doesn't pertain to ram error it may be the cause

Sony vaio VGN FJ290P password reset sony vaio VGN FJ290P

I have set the password for administrator when i entered the bios set up. you can change its setting but not the configuration unless you've entered the password. you can't change the password with a new one if you cant enter the old password. Next time dont forget your password because laptops has its security even when stolen you cant open its bios set up if its protected by password. CMOS battery is in the mother board. You need a service technician to open your laptop to reset the bios setup battery.

Yes you can reset it, just make sure you unplug the computer before doing it...
Open the left sidepanel and either look for the clear cmos jumper and switch it to the other pin for 10 secs, or you can remove the cmos battery for 10 secs
