I turned on my laptop and got the "Bootmgr is missing'' message. My laptop didn't come with a Window Vista Installation CD to repair it so I burned one. After getting it to boot up from the DVD drive, I clicked ''repair your computer''. But nothing shows up as the operating system and I couldn't find it when browsing through the hard disk and hard drives. Please help!
When you boot from the DVD, is the C:\ drive visible in any way? If not, you may need to remove the hard drive and check it in another PC, or have a PC store check it.
I read up that on vista supplied pc's part of the harddrive is partitioned and stores a copy of vista for backup or restoring your copy only so look there. If you cant find it try ebay for a genuine vista disc and use your product key on your laptop. The vista cd is £15 on ebay u.k.
