When the ice maker dumps ice it starts knocking
SOURCE: ice maker is dumping ice but arm is not fully going all the way down
Is your Ice bin filling up too much? Frigdaire did have problems with there ice makers, and I belive the new ones come with a arm extention. Your one of the lucky one's and your icemaker still makes ice! I dont know how old your unit is but they were replaceing icemakers under a factory warrenty. I could be wrong but I think they were doing it up to a 5 year old unit.

Either you have a bad heating element (soften the ice to eject) or a stripped gear in Ice Maker either way it will have to be replaced by the time you buy the parts and install them you can just replace the ice maker as a unit

You have a bad switch in the ice maker need to replace whole ice maker or the switch

Hi: Dumping the ice is the start of the ice making timer. Before you replace the ice maker... Set the freezer one setting colder. The ice maker wont make ice if the freezer is not at zero degrees F. Just because things are frozen in it dosn't mean it is at zero. This happens a lot in the summertime. After resetting the temp don't open the door every hour to see if it makes ice as you will just dump the cold air out. Listen for the ice to dump, give it 24hrs. I hope this helps, Jeff
