Question about HP OfficeJet 7310 All-In-One InkJet Printer
Open up the cover over the adf feed. Make sure there's no paper caught in the mechanism. If I recall correctly (don't have one in front of me), the rollers can be lifted out of this one. Try this and make sure you didn't miss anything. DO NOT FORCE IT. If the rollers don't snap out with only a little pressure, seek another way to pull them out, or perhaops I was incorrect.
If there's no paper, you probably have a stuck or broken sensor flag. The feeds use these flags to detect the presence of paper, so if it's stuck, it's detecting paper when there isn't supposed to be, so the printer thinks you're jammed. If you see the flag and it appears to be stuck, use a stretched paper clip to get it back in place. Again, DO NOT FORCE IT, or you could bereak the flag or the sensor.
If the flag appears to be broken, then you will have to call HP if the unit is in warranty. They do not allow ASPs to work on inkjet printers in warranty and you have to return the unit to them. Often, they will cross-ship you a replacement. Call 1-800-HP-INVENT
