There is no safe DIY repair for your lens problem, and the camera will require professional repair. I suggest that you take it to a local camera shop (NOT the camera department in a large store) or contact Kodak customer service via their website (www.kodak.com) to arrange repair. Be sure to get a firm price before you commit to any repair, though. The fix can easily approach the cost of a new camera, and repair warranties are typically only 30 days.

Lens won't retract

Lens probably does not extend or retract because of debris or a misaligned gear box. The lens can in about 50% of the cases be repaired without having to replace it. Try to return to manufacturer first. If you're out of warranty, there are third party place that fix them such as camera lens repairs. If you want to do it yourself, there are also free camera repair guide websites that show you how to replace the lens, the replacement part is usually available on ebay.

Lenz stuck out

If the lens mechanism has been damaged or is sticking from foreign material around the lens housing it will shut down when you try to power on. Once in a while you can try to assist the lens by placing gentle pressure against it when you power on and the lens may retract. This will most likely not fix the problem but it may give you a better idea if the mechanism is damaged or not.

LENSE WON'T CLOSE

try charging the camera. to full capacity. then turn it on.

could be a dead battery

i would not try to push the lens in, it might cause more harm than good.

if that doesnt help you might have a broken gear in the lens retracting mechanics.
