On the SD card itself is a write protect switch - it's on the side. Check the switch to see if it's in the protect position.

Cards can become unusable over time. However, sometimes all it takes is to format the card in the camera to give it a fresh start. This will completely erase it so, download any pictures to your computer first.

SOURCE: I have a 4 GB

Hi, did you click the option to erase the photos from the card after you imported them into iPhoto? It could be that the images are still on the card and that iPhoto has just deleted the directory.
If you are sure that the photos are all on your Mac then the best thing is to use the camera's menu and reformat the card.
I have made a point of NEVER letting iPhoto delete the pictures but I delete them manually in the camera once I know they are safe in iPhoto. However, I am finding that I am no-longer deleting the photos from the card - when it is full I put it aside and use a new one - they are so cheap now - way cheaper than film is.

Camera shows write protect when open

When what is open? Always keep the battery / memory card door closed. If it is not closed correct, the camera won't work as expected. To protect the file system, when someone should pul out the memory card, while the camera is accessing the memory, it will or shut down completely, or at least protect the memory card against writing to it.
Before opening the battery / memory card cover, always make sure the camera is completely shut off. That means no light is allowed to burn or flicker. The memory card can also be write protected (SD cards) when the lock switch is down like in the picture on the 32GB card.
Before you can make any picture the switch on the card should be up like on the 64GB card on the picture. 3635bcf4-65df-478c-a04d-92e341d15860.jpg

Why does my s120 keep saying memory card write protected?

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

My memory card keeps saying it is in write protection and I keep flipping the switch on the side but it doesn't work, how do I fix it?

The write protection is initiated by your camera, not the lock switch on the side of the card. Check your manual for the procedure to cancel write protection.

When I'm recording video using my Olympus xz-1, i keep encountering "card error". Often, it happen after recording for > 2 min. is this my memory card problem or the camera problem.

Hello,
There is actually a very very big chance that it was the memory card. Your camera might have been having troubles writing data to the memory storage device such as the memcard itself due to corrupted files in it. Try to format the memory card to remove any sort of glitches, if it does the same, try a different memory card to see if it will do the same exact error.

I have a Memory card in my camera that allows me to save still pictures to it, however, when I try to record video to the memory card it gives me the little yellow triangle and the "in Card...

I'm going to say the memory card first if you have used it before to record video then the card is corrupted and needs formatting to the camera it is being used in. Download your still pictures first then format the memory card. If this is a new card again down load pictures and format the card in the camera. The last possibility is the memory card write speed is slower then the video so no it can't write to it. Sounds confusing but really if the card was working in the camera then doesn't now then it needs to have the memory card formatted.

I can not get my PV-400D camcorder to work on the memory card side

1 possible memory conflict ensure your memory card is formated to the same as the camera uses is it in FAT format?

2 check the maximum memory card size acceptable by the camera if the card is 64 meg and the camera only accepts 8meg then there might be your problem.

3. ensure the memory card is not write proteted move the tab to the read write position.

I hope this was helpful

What does write protect mean?

"Write Protect" means that something is locked and your device (camera) cannot "write" to it's storage area.
What type of "storage media" are you using?
For example:  the camera's internal memory, a CompactFlash card, a Memory Stick, an "xD-Picture Card" (micro, mini or regular sized), or a Secure Digital/MultiMediaCard.
[Did you put something  (a small plastic card of some sort) into a slot on the camera before or after turning it on?
Those little cards usually have a tiny button (also called a switch or lever) on them that will move back and forth to lock (write protect) or unlock it. This sounds like the memory card inside your camera is locked or "Write Protected.

To fix this simply take it out, closely examine the memory for the button- the button will be closer to the word "lock" or "protect" and all you need to do is gently slide it in the opposite direction from where it currently is. Put it back into the camera and see if it still says "Write Protect."

Writing error keeps coming up

Try formatting the xd card. The f20 has enough internel memory for a few pix, if the card is not working it uses internal memory. Also look for the number of pictures remaining if this is low the card is not working.
