This appears to be a driver issue to me. Not communicating. As long as you can print out a test page from the printer, then the issue is communication. Try uninstalling and reinstalling and or change to a different print port. If networked, try pinging the printer.
Might be your gap is set to high. try moving the right lever from A to B for example and see if it clears it out. Also might be your parallelism, you will find to hex screws on the right and left of the platen assy that u can adjust. This will balance out the shuttle if one side is printing to light and another is printing to dark. Rory 708-597-4222
the machine has the print server board and interface board installed? Canon machines need additional hardware installed to function as printers the parallel port is not a print port contact connecticutcopierrepair.com for more info
Can you hold the paper feed button and get it to printer a test page? Check your manual on this. Make sure it is selected as the default printer. Is it a USB or parallel? If it is a parallel try another cable, USB the same and another port.
Yeah you need to replace that imaging and transfer units for it to print. That has a counter on it and once it comes up with that message it will not print anything.
NOW THE WARANING. Once you replace the unit. Everything you have sent is in the memory and will print out. What you will want to do is once it starts printing, continue to cancel the jobs until they are all out of memory. Believe me, the jobs are there....
if the data light comes on and nothing prints chances are that the serial settings are set improperly. all of my printers are 25 pin serial, not parallel. i don't have one in front of me but i believe the settings are 19200, 8, 1, none. hope this helps.
