FIll the water tank.

Turn the program selector to "ON with light" and place containers below the hot water dispenser and the steam nozzle.

Press the hot water button, turn the steam selector counterclockwise and let water run out until it streams steadily.

Press the hot water button again.
Turn the steam selector to "o" to shut off the water.

That should solve the problem

Assuming you have tried everything the manual describes concerning the "expel air" error and provided it does not go away after flushing several times, you may have a technical problem with the machine.

I had this problem and would suggest you do the following :

    1) The "expel air" warning is an indication that the pump is not able to force water through the flow sensor and heater.

    2) Therefore, if you can get the machine to work, try to descale it several times. It may be the heater which is clogged.

    3) If this does not solve the problem seek technical assistance. I would like to warn that the CVA620 is an extremely difficult machine to disassemble. It is actually a rebuilt Saeco coffee machine. Most spare parts from a Saeco Vienna can be used. You can find these on-line at reasonable prices from BND Kaffeestudio in Germany ( Miele's spare parts prices are approx. 3-4 times higher than the identical Saeco parts.

    4) I fixed my CVA620 by replacing a) the flow sensor, b) the pump and c) the heater - however I suspect that the actual problem in my case was that the pump did not work properly - so now I have a more or less completely rebuilt machine.

    Good luck

My CVA620 machine asks to "expel air " but

keep holding the hot water button down until you get a steady stream of water with no air. if you continue to get the error message after the water comes out, you will need to check the flow meter. if water never comes out, you have a leak inside the machine, a pump issue, or a blockage in the water path. That machine uses the same pump for steam and hot water, so if your steam is working, your pump is probably good. Blockages usually occur from not descaling properly. That machine is prone to leak at the hose fittings. the original o rings were black rubber, and failed fairly early. the replacements are red silicone and last much longer.

Lack of pressure from the steam wand used for frothing the milk.

Hello Juneyjune,
These coffee systems have a series of small rubber 'O' rings that tend to crack from condensation over time causing your low pressure problem.
The 'O' rings are connected to a heater that looks like a horse shoe mounted in back of the grinding unit.
I would recommend contacting Miele technical services. They can have a technician come out to replace the 'O' rings or you can order them from the technical services rep if you know someone that can replace them for you. Just be careful. These machines operate off of 220 volts and that is no fun to get shocked by. I have been many times with this machine

Good luck!!!

My Miele CVA620 machine announces 'Expel Air,' and

I'm probably to late for this answer, but I will share it anyway.
I got this problem after buying a used CVA620, that had not been used for a while.
To solve the problem i used a breast pump :-)
My wife had this doublepump after the last kid. And I used the hoses that comes with this unit (rubber-like) and connecting them to the hot-water and the steam-nozzles. I started pumping, and pushed the hotwaterbutton. After 5min of pumping and swearing, the job was done. No my CVA works as a charm again :-)
